Chapter 13:Time to move on

I own nothing just the idea I also made up more names so not to get in trouble.

I woke up in the morning around 8 30 and had some fruit like berries and apples then I drank some water and I was good. 

I changed out of my dress I have slept in and decided to change in my new outfit. My long thin pants and my long blackish blue shirt and put my sword in as well. I then checked my water canteens and the only one I wanted to refill was the one I drank for breakfast so I took that canteen and headed back to waterville to the reserve. 

Upon arrival I noticed one of the elders waiting near the meeting hut. Taking little to no notice I went straight to the reserve and upon getting there I refilled my canteen. When it was filled I closed it up and tied it around my right shoulder then headed back to my canoe where I rounded a corner and heard the elders talking and stopped to listen and what I heard made me panic. 

"Is it true Karn"? "Yes Ado the messenger said that they found a new maiden to take her place as a sacrifice named Mage and the traitor is either to be found and returned to the village to be executed or is banished forever and her family is already being shunned", "I heard people won't talk to them or they are not allowed to go hunting with groups and they can't help with healing". "What about that new girl that arrived maybe we should talk to her about it she may be that traitor after all"? 

"Great idea Gage". I believe she was at the reserve let's go". They started coming my way and I immediately ducked around the other side of the building and behind a tree and held my breath. I spotted them and held still praying they wouldn't find me. After a few agonizing minutes they walked right passed and after waiting a few seconds I looked and I could make it around the building so I did. When the coast was clear I bolted for the woods where my canoe was and I knew I had to escape. 

Making it back to my canoe I quickly tossed everything I needed on it and pushed it into the river and started paddling off. I made it to the thick bush and cut it away with my knife and I set off. 

I then pulled out my map and saw the way I came in and another way. I was planning to go the way I came in but then I noticed traders and fisherman and it would be hard to get through so I re-checked the map and spotted the other way could help me get to open ocean just a little longer I also took note of other islands that are in that general direction. 

Navigating the boat around twists and turns I saw open water and made my way down. I also looked at my map and I noticed that about two to three days  on this path I can make it Cartha city. Cartha city is a wealthy city that my people don't normally trade with since they have so much already and they also didn't believe in sacrifices like my people did.

 Knowing that I decided to see if I could call that place home. I also knew that Cartha city was a few miles from another village called Kami ville. A smaller place where some peoplelive and they go to Cartha city to work and get paid to feed their families and they get animals as transport.

 I decided to head to Kami ville first and see if a wagon was big enough to fit a medium sized canoe, or if they had a water route I could take, My decision clear I made my way toward Kami ville and possibly my new home.
