Chapter 18 The sole survivor

I own nothing but the idea

It has been a week since arriving in the city and I made friends with the market people who in exchange for some animal pelts that I hunt but also payed for I also get to buy whatever food I want at a discount. 

Also I am good at growing cacao tree seeds and using that to make chocolate which has become very popular and I know where to grow them and or buy thenseeds so I have managed a small living for myself. I also met a guy named Jakub he is the son of a fishman and farmer so he knows how to do both and is quite fun to be with. He is also a good hunter I once went with him and he showed me how to track animal footprints and look for broken twigs because that's where the direction they went. 

One day I was out by myself and I saw the strange gear I stole from the creatures staring at me, as I stared back I decided to train with them. The first one was the spear I picked it up and pushed that button and it extended so I began pretending sword fight with it, then I practiced throwing it at a target missed three times but then I got it. 

Then I saw the mask so I picked it up and grabbed some small but strong string and wrapped it around my face and it lit up. Then I could see strange symbols then the creatures were standing around each other talking to each other it was strange. I then took it off and placed it back in a trunk which I bought after selling a lot of chocolate. 

I figured since my hut was being built soon I would need some furniture. My canoe will also have its own rack so it can be stored until next time I need it. 

Then one day as I was walking around the main part of the city I saw people talking and crying curious I walked near them and hid behind a building to listen more clearly and that's when I heard the most heartbreaking thing I would ever hear. A old lady said"It's terrible the whole city is gone just a barren wasteland". A younger man said "The gods did it they just had to be the ones". A middle aged man said "No survivors anywhere we searched". A hunter said "Tekki city is destroyed the gods took it with them and left". "I heard there was a girl who was supposed to be sacrificed to the gods but refused and ran away now whoever she is and if she still lives she is the sole survivor".

I was in shock and breathing heavy I then started running all the way back to my tent and upon arriving I ran inside and closed the front and stumbled to my bed and started crying tears of pain for my former home, my people my friends and my Father,mother and brother are all dead. Those monsters did it I am a sole survivor of an entire civilization.

I am done for a while that's a lot on christmas day merry christmas
