In the midst of prepping for the wedding, Ai Siyi came to ask Wu Lei one last time. "Your Highness, are you sure you want to leave behind your glorious past and be a commoner?"

Wu Lei stood watching the slightly blurred icy lake. His eyes were recovering quite fast these days, but not fast enough for his liking. His limbs were regaining its strength. His energy were all coming back in surge. "When I thought I had nothing left. When I felt that I am no longer a great somebody I want to leave it all."

Siyi quietly smirked. "How about now? Now that you have regained bits and pieces of your power?"

"Now...I am not sure. But I have made a promise that I would live with her."

"Then, what will you do if that promise can't be fulfilled?" Siyi asked.

Wu Lei stayed silence.

In the past few months, Lu Si started to show up more in the small village attached to the Hermit Abode. Wu Lei sometimes went out with a mask on to take a look at the people. They became quite close with the people. They helped them throughout their daily lives because the people living in the village were mostly older people. Winter in the mountain was always tough for them. They needed young men and women with able body to help around. Together, the two of them also took care of a small orphanage for the little kids without homes.

For their wedding, the village were invited. The esteemed grandma of the village was asked by Ai Siyi to come and comb Lu Si's hair as a custom; to give her fortunes and happiness in marriage life.

There was no wedding carriage, but the wedding was small. It was hosted at the village hall, the main attraction for the whole village in a snowy landscape. The esteemed grandma and grandpa were bear witness as the 'parents' for the couple to bow to.

"FIRST BOW TO HEAVEN AND EARTH." Cried the officiator that was Ai Siyi.

"SECOND BOW TO THE PARENTS."

"THIRD BOW TO HUSBAND AND WIFE."

The people were joyful, enjoying their feast on the ground floor of the Hall while Lu Si waited patiently for her groom in their room after they carried out the ritual. Lu Si was nervous but had to sit there on the bed quietly with the red veil over her face. As times gone by, she counted her sighs. Pouted and sulked while massaging her legs. The pain of marriage had started with the bride sitting and wait for her groom. Did he remember her at all? The people downstairs would not let Wu Lei go despite him complaining of how tired he was that he needed some rest.

"What took so long?" She murmured to herself, but straightened her posture when she heard footsteps coming.

Ai Siyi's plan for this wedding did not go too well when he found invaders crossing the borders of his mountain range. They were no ordinary human either. They were a collective group of renowned martial artists who came to capture the exiled Prince of Jin for a great amount of gold taels on the command of the House of Yi Mei.

"Siyi, there are people outside of the inn waiting for me." Wu Lei commented when only he and Siyi were the one left awaken.

"That is right. I don't know how they found this place. It must've been an insider info, but what will you do?"

"My eyes, they are getting better." He hinted that he could take them on.

"But it is snowing heavily outside." Ai Siyi looked out to the window and saw them aligning, encircling the area.

"And I don't want bloodshed on my wedding day." Wu Lei said.

"But red is a very beautiful fortunate color," Ai Siyi joked.
