its the middle of the night, and i lay on my bed, staring at the faded green stars on my ceiling that id stuck up there when i was little and overly obsessed with outer space. being grounded was so boring. i wasn't allowed to go out, go on the internet, do anything. and my burner phone was almost dead. now that i thought about it, i probably had one more phone call left. grinning to myself, i dial my boyfriends number. he answers almost immediately. "hello?" "rodrick!" "y/n! hey. what are you up to? i thought you were grounded." "yeah, i am. I'm gonna sneak out and come to your place. be ready in five." i hang up and hop off my bed to slip on my converse. as quietly as possible, i slowly open my window and climb out of it. without looking back, i pick up speed and soon am running full-speed until i reach rodrick's house (which is only like two houses away, but i still manage to get winded). when I'm standing in front of his front door i realize we hadn't devised a plan for how i would get in. would susan care if i just walked in? my mom had probably told her i was grounded, so that might not be the best option. i finally decide to just suck it up and knock on the door. luckily, rodrick is the one to answer. he puts a finger to his lips. "my parents are asleep," he mouths. i nod and we both start to tiptoe down to his room, which is down in the basement. in the process my burner accidentally falls out of my pocket and onto Rodrick's dog, Sweetie. Startled, sweetie starts to run around the kitchen, his paws skittering on the wooden floor. rodrick and i both try to get him to stop, but he continues running in circles, his loud ass nails clacking on the tile. "fuck it, lets go," rodrick whispers, hurrying out of the kitchen. we're about to reach the basement when the living room light turns on. rodrick quickly opens the basment door and i rush inside before anyone sees me. rodrick shuts the door and i lean against it to listen. its susans voice. "rodrick? whats going on?" i pray rodrick doesnt mess up and say the wrong thing. "oh, i was just thirsty so i came up to the kitchen to get a glass of water." "did something happen with sweetie? why is he freaking out?" "i, uh...accidentally stepped on his tail." "rodrick! you know sweetie's tail is sensitive." "sorry." susan sighs. "its fine. just get back to bed. you have school tomorrow." "okay." "Goodnight,  rodrick." "night, mom!" after a few beats rodrick opens the door again and we both run down the stairs and into rodricks room, both of us laughing the entire time. when we both walk into his room rodrick sighs in relief and closes his door. "that was close. so, what do you wanna do?" he asks me, sitting on the edge of his bed. i tilt my head and point at his nose. "did you get a septum?" "huh? oh, yeah. my friend did it. you like?" i lean in and press my lips against his. "i love it." He grins. "im glad." we kiss again and i add, "how did your mom not kill you?" he shrugs. "she was mad at first, but she got over it." "oh, well, It's probably hard to stay mad at you." rodrick grabs me by the waist and pulls me closer. "Oh, yeah? why's that?" "You're too cute." rodrick wrinkles his nose. "I'm not cute." "You are too," i say, booping his nose. he laughs a kind of laugh that makes me fall in love all over again. we kiss again, this time a lot longer and more passionately. rodrick's lips are cold but his mouth warm. he traces a cold finger down my back and i shiver. "rodrick?" i whisper. "yeah?" he asks. "i love you." he pulls away and looks in my eyes. "i love you, too, y/n."

[ugh this is my favorite one i love it sm]
