Chapter 12

It's been a week and today is the rave'n enid has been yapping about the dance everyday every night every morning her bubbly annoying voice was all over my personal space, also her always talking about ajax this ajax that.

And for me its staking out the cave night with eugune he was so prepared and excited for this. I wouldnt want his happiness to decrease and for him to dissapointed not that i care ofcourse.

And as for enid shes excited to go to this pointless dance because she wants to make ajax 'jealous' she's so oblivious, for me this past week i am still trying to figure out what this new feeling is it's been bothering me i do not like it i hate it it's like a thousand needles gettitng stuffed into my chest i enjoy them but not for this.

(7:00 pm)

It's time for the rave'n thats what i would say if i was enid but for me its staking out the cave with eugene he is supposed to go my dorm and knock at the exact time no going out in the woods alone, someone knocks at the door as im getting ready i assume that its eugene "I'm coming, Eugene!" i say as im walking towards the door "Hey did you grab any extra batteries for the flash--" i say as im opening the door i raise my eyebrow in shock as to i'm wondering why tyler? is the one standing.

"Tyler." i say confusingly "Uh, i got your invite" he says looking at me confused as he raises the letter that was in his hands "Guessing you had thing drop it in the tip jar?" he says as he smiled slightly "Good guess." i say still looking straight at him

"Yeah after our last converstation, I wasn't sure i'd even get to speak to you again, but... Well, your note was so genuine and.. sweet" he says as he furrowed his eyebrows slowly he continues "Totally took me by suprise." he says as he smiles.

Me and tyler's last conversation was a few weeks ago and that was at the weathervane i see him as nothing more i dont care about his existence nor care about his presence. "Me too." i say as a response "Well, now that i'm here, I'm glad i came.." he says as he smiles and continues with "you need a few minutes?" i close the door on him as i walk to my wardrobe i talk to thing.

"Genuine and sweet?! how could you do this to me you know me and eugene were staking out the cave tonight!" i say in a whispering tone i sigh frustratedly as i skip through all my clothes in my wardrobe" but as thing taps i turn to look i see that the dress i saw at an antique store last week was at my bed "how'd you pay for it?" as i grab it i ask thing he montions 5 fingers "Five-finger discount, of course." "Thing don't look." i say as i change into the dress he got me.

After a few minutes i walk down the stairs and see tyler waiting for me as he stares into my mother's gnarly picture as i walk towards him he says "Wow, you look.." i continue "Unrecognizeable? Ridiculous? A classic example of female objectification for the male gaze?" i say flatly "Amazing" he says as he looks at me with his gaze that was unbearabley gross.

"I mean it, Wednesday. You look beautiful." with that timing eugene arrives "Eugene?" i say suprised and shocked "Wednesday, What's going on?" he asks me looking disappointed its the one thing i didnt want. "Uh, What happened to staking out the cave?" he says i look at tyler and look at him with my eyes hoping he gets what i mean

"Sure, I get it. Guess i'll check out the woods by myself." he says looking at me "Don't go alone, It's too dangerous. stand down" demanding him to not do it "We'll go together tomorrow night, understood?" he nods i turn around and walk towards the ball room.

And there i see enid, With her date? it was mayor walkers son i've had a few encounters with him most of them didn't end well for him. There it was again it was that feeling again the needles that felt like they were getting stuffed into my chest i ignore as i go to get a punch and suprisingly enid walked up to me.

"O M GOSH! YOU LOOK PERFECT!" Enid says to me as she looks at me with her bright smile and her annoyingly blue colorful eyes. "But what happened to staking out the cave with eugene?" she asks me looking genuinely confused.
