Josie sat in the coffee shop as she fidgeted with the her hands around the coffee mug.
She sat there wondering what the hell just happened.
"Are you okay? Do you want me to drive you to a hospital to get checked up on or-"
"Why are you always in the right places at the right time?" Josie asked as her eyes remained gazing at the cup of coffee in front of her.
The auburn haired girl shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe it's fate." She smiled as she looked down nervously as Josie playfully rolled her eyes. "All jokes aside, I want you to tell me everything."
"What if I don't want to tell you everything?"
"Well then you don't have to tell me everything, Josette." Josie looked around the café as a sign that she wasn't going to be telling Hope anything. "Can you at least tell me where 900 years of living went? Please don't tell me you gamble."
Josie scoffed and met eyes with Hope. "I wouldn't gamble if my life depended on it." She paused as she looked down at her fingers. She was too humiliated to look up. "I...I went to sleep last night with 900 years to spare and woke up with an empty house and 6 minutes to live."
Hope immediately got up and sat by Josie as she brought her into an unexpected hug. "I'm sorry that happened to you. Do you have any idea who took it or if someone broke in and took it because I'll hire anyone that I need to-"
Josie pulled back from the hug, "no need to do that. Jade just got herself mixed up in some drama and she claims that people are after her. Maybe they took it while I was sleep."
Hope looked at her as if she was stupid, "yeah, and the house was perfectly fine?" Josie nodded, "you wake up with your girlfriend and 900 years worth of money and time on your wrist gone to a clean and perfect house. I'm sure any intruder will just take the time and not even a trace of anything." Hope scoffed before getting up from the chair. "She took your time, Josette."
The brunette girl knew this,
She knew,
And she thought,
And She felt it.
She just didn't want to believe it. She wanted to believe that maybe she did get robbed and maybe the robbers were respectful enough to put things back the way they should have been.
She didn't want to believe that jade would betray her.
Not after her parents died and not after jade ghosted her for all those months. Not after Josie was there for her through thick and thin and especially not after the fact that if Jade asked, Josie would have given her last to her.
Josie wasn't selfish, and she wasn't planning on keeping all that time to herself anyways.
She was planning on eventually giving summer, her sister, some money, and after seeing that jade needed some money she was going to give her some.
"There's nothing I can do about it now, I'll just work this money off and pay you back for both times you gave me time. After I find a way to pay you back... I don't want to have anything to do with you." Josie assured as she got up from the chair.
The mikaelson girl was confused, "I helped you. Why are you mad at me-"
"I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at the world. I'm mad at myself." She paused for a moment. "You also want me as your play thing and as of right now I don't know who I can trust. So you staying away from me is the best option. Last person that I let in, betrayed me, apparently." Josie took a deep breath before turning away.
She walked out of the café, leaving Hope standing there still very confused.
-Later that day it was around 6th period and Hope hadn't seen Josie all day since earlier. It wasn't like she was looking for her or anything but she did want to see her again.
Landon walked up to Hope as she was putting her things into the locker. "I don't appreciate you hitting me in my face because of some modern broke girl."
Hope took a deep breath as she looked at Landon. "Why are you in my face?"
"I wanted you to apologize to me so we can go to the school dance coming up."
Hope shook her head, "I'm not apologizing for shit and I damn sure am not going to a school dance with you. I'm already planning to ask Josie."
Landon scoffed and broke into some laughter. "You think she's going to go with you? She doesn't like you Hope, stop chasing someone that won't ever like you." Landon assured as he placed his hands into his front pockets.
The auburn haired girl glared at him before she saw the image of the girl in a far distance behind him. Her face softened as she locked her locker. "Sure whatever Landon, I'll talk to you later." Hope walked pass Landon and over to Josie.
The brunette saw her coming and she tensed up. She wanted nothing more than to go and make a run for it but she couldn't, it was a little too late for that anyways, "I thought I told you to leave me alone." Josie says as Hope walked up to her with a small smile.
The mikaelson girl shrugged, "if I listened to what you said the first time then I wouldn't know all these small things about you that I already know." Hope made a point.
"What did you want?"
"I want to know if I can take you to the school dance that's coming up soon." Hope asked nervously.
Josie shook her head, "no, I would gladly pass." She tried to walk pass Hope.
The auburn haired girl grabbed her hand to stop her. "You want to pay me back. If you give me one night...one night I'll make it memorable and you wouldn't have to pay me back at all."
Josie thought for a moment as she turned around and looked over her shoulder. "I will consider it."
The brunette walked off and left Hope smiling.
