Brooke was an outcast.
Even in Nevermore, she was treated differently. She was considered a freak by the normies and treated like a stranger by the outcasts in Nevermore. No one really knows why she transferred to Nevermore not even halfway through the first term of the school year of 2020. She just arrived one day and Principle Weems refused to say anything on the matter.
This of course led students to come up with their own theories of why she came to where she is now, ranging from simple expulsion and parents having nowhere else to send her, all the way to being a murderer who killed her own parents. Brooke was a shy girl who naturally tried to steer away from conflict and conversations equally. Needless to say, this meant Brooke was alone at her time in Nevermore. She was used to it. It almost seemed like her destiny to be alone and she believed it would be forever.
Until one day, a chirpy platinum blonde with red and blue dyed tips approached her. Enid was the complete opposite of Brooke. She was outgoing and friendly to anyone she met. At the same time though, as a werewolf, you didn't want to get on her bad side as she would most definitely stand up for herself and those she wants to protect. Even if she hadn't shifted yet.
Most never understood why they got along so well. They couldn't be more different and combined with the fact that they hadn't had a single conversation where Brooke said more than a short sentence or two. These people vastly underestimated Enid and her sociability. Enid could make friends with anyone and her constant talking made up for the fact that Brooke had neither the confidence nor the social skills to talk to anyone more than a few words. And that was how they liked it, Enid talking about whatever problems she had, with Brooke listening and giving a few words of support when needed. It meant they got along much better than anyone ever expected and while to begin with people were trying to warn Enid to stay away from Brooke, they eventually gave up seeing as she wasn't going to listen to them. Brooke wasn't going to be alone if she had anything to say about it. She'd make sure Nevermore was different for the lonely girl.
