It was a dark night, in Surrey Harry James Potter was sitting in his cupboard at Four Privet Drive , he was looking at the discarded alarm clock his aunt and uncle Petunia and Vernon Dursley threw into the small cupboard to make sure their nephew would wake up early and do his chores even at a young age he was forced to do the yard work and cook and clean, like a slave.
He fiddled with the loose string on his oversized shirt that was once his cousin Dudley's as he looked at the clock he counted down the minutes, "321 happy birthday Harry another year of being stuck in this literal hell or perhaps not".
With a hopeful look in his eye he gently pushes the cupboard door open smiling in glee as the door opened and he got up looked around even though it was midnight he was still quiet as the spider that hung around his cupboard he turns around and grabs his meager belongings as well as the spider who was his only friend and placed him on his shoulder, "come on Mortem we are getting out of here forever".
After grabbing the last of his stuff he closes the cupboard quietly and makes it to the door having a sadistic smile on his face he knocks over three of his aunts favorite vases and watches as they break on the wood floor with glee he opens the front door and closes it behind him, "screw you all see you in the afterlife".
As he walks to the nearby park he waves his hands letting the shadows swarm around him making him invisible except to the trained eye an ability he found out he could do when his cousin and his friends went looking for him in their little game of Harry hunting, he sits on a nearby bench and lets the shadows fade away revealing himself once more.
As he looks up he hears two animals one a particularly massive barn owl the other a sleek black raven three times the normal size carrying letters as he continues to stare they swoop down to him and drop the letters into his lap, he begins to read the owls letter first ripping open the wax seal he pulls out two thick pieces of parchment and begins to read.
