the four boys sat in the restaurant patiently waiting for their food to come out. jisung and seungmin sat across hyunjin and changbin in a small booth. they had planned this hangout for a week, just catching up with each other because of their busy schedules.
"hyunjin, it's rude to be on your phone at the table." jisung nagged at him. hyunjin finished typing up a message and looked at jisung, putting his phone down on the table.
seungmin rolled his eyes playfully, "he's texting his little crush."
"crush~?" jisung said in a teasing manner. hyunjin rolled his eyes, crossing his arms as a waiter came over to set down ramen in front of them. the four thanked the worker politely, going back to their conversation as if nothing happened.
"a boy in japan." changbin smirked, earning a small smack on the arm by hyunjin.
"JAPAN?!" jisung exclaimed a little too loud, becoming slightly embarrassed after.
"he's originally from busan— but he moved to tokyo!" hyunjin explained.
jisung sighed, blowing on his ramen before taking a bite, "so there's no language barrier or anything?" he asked, shortly stuffing his face with food.
hyunjin shook his head, "nope."
"as long as you're happy, hyunjin." jisung spoke with his mouth full. the three laughed as hyunjin grew tense from his phone buzzing on the table.
"long distance is hard, you know?" seungmin said.
hyunjin shot him an almost disgusted look at him as if he already knew that, "i know, i know— i don't know if it'll even get that far, though. i recently got his number— and we call almost everyday,"
if hyunjin was honest with his friends, he would tell them he would take the next flight to tokyo just to have the boy he liked in his arms. he knew they would call it a stupid, careless, impulsive decision but hyunjin had figured out his feelings a long time ago. he knew what he wanted and it was him. hyunjin didn't want the obstacles that were scattered around the idea of a relationship with jeongin to stop him from anything.
he took leaps of faith often but he couldn't always say it went his way.
"enough of this lovey dovey shit, let's just eat!" changbin laughed, cutting hyunjin off. (lovey lovey lovey dovey dovey dovey)
the four of them all got caught up with each other just like how they always did. they could spend months without seeing each other but the moment they were put in the same room, it's like nothing has changed.
"yeah, seungmins actually a really good singer." changbin complimented his friend. seungmin had took interest in song writing and asked for changbin's help with recording.
changbin played a small portion of what they were working on, seungmins eyes closed shut with his hands over his ears.
"you can get somewhere with this, seungmin! really!" jisung excitedly said.
"it's really good! you know, jeongin sings too?" hyunjin added.
"he really is running through your mind all the time." seungmin laughed.
they grew silent as the worker approached their table, having nothing but a piece of paper in their hand. they slid it towards hyunjin, sending him a smirk before turning away quickly to their coworker.
"ooh what is it?" jisung tried to sit up a little to get a peek at what was on the paper. hyunjins face grew confused, picking it up to unfold it. it was a phone number and a name.
"the workers trying to rizz up hyunjin." changbin chuckled once he saw the paper.
"please never say 'rizz' again." seungmin said.
hyunjin folded the paper back up, placing it on the table. he wasn't sure what he wanted to do with it. he didn't want it.
"i think they're pretty cute, you should go for it." seungmin gave his opinion. he looked around the restaurant for the person but they were no where in sight.
hyunjin let a laugh out, "i'm not interested."
