"hyunjin!" jeongin excited waved at his computer once he accepted the call. he sat in his living room floor with his laptop on his coffee table. his screen was tilted slightly down to see him and a little bit of his lap, being criss cross apple saused.
hyunjin smiled widely, "hi jeongin! how are you?" hyunjin was in his room, back on his own gaming chair with his laptop on the desk displaying hyunjin and his torso and his shelves in the background.
"i'm good! look, i got pudding." he held a small plastic cup in front of the screen, smiling widely, displaying his teeth.
"jeongin.." hyunjin trailed off, slightly shocked and in awe. jeongin's face shifted to a confused look, lowering his pudding down and head slightly tilted.
"s—sorry! it's the first time you smiled at me without covering your mouth. i'm sorry if mentioning it is weird— you were just so cute!" hyunjin stuttered on his words, his ears getting slightly red— just enough to be visible on camera.
"aah— it's okay! i guess i didn't really notice," jeongin scratched the side of his head, slightly embarrassed to be hit with the realization.
"you made me so excited i couldn't hold it in, hm?" he smiled, closed mouth this time, in a joking way. hyunjin chuckled in return.
"go eat your pudding!"
jeongin opened it up and took the pudding out on a small plate. he had a small spoon to eat it with, holding it delicately compared to his big hands. hyunjin smiled seeing the boys eyes bright up as he tasted the sweet desert.
"they say japanese pudding is the best kind," hyunjin says, receiving an eager nod from jeongin.
"definitely! you need to try it when you come over!"
"thinking about me coming over, already? it has been a while since we started talking."
"or i can go back to korea!"
"either way, i'm sitting in your lap," hyunjins eyes were scanning his screen trying to find another place to look other than in between jeongins arms. he couldn't stop himself from saying what he was thinking, picking up jeongins habit of thinking out loud.
jeongin felt his heart beat a little faster, taking another bite of his pudding out of nervousness, "so you're a little spoon?" he teases.
hyunjin denied it quick, "i—im not! i just want to hug you so bad right now, you look so cute." hyunjin explained. jeongin smiled again, endearingly.
jeongin covered his eyes shyly, "hyunie~stop!" he whined.
hyunjin let out a laugh, "AH HAA! YOU WHINE EXACTLY HOW I IMAGINED!"
"yeah, but in a family friendly way this time."
hyunjin covered his mouth in shock at his words, "it was family friendly to begin with!" he defended, only to hear jeongin laugh.
"can i talk to you about something?" jeongin asked after their little giggle fit. hyunjin nodded intently, his eyes becoming doe like.
"remember the time you told me about the waiter giving you their number?" hyunjin nodded for jeongin to keep going.
he never found the right time to talk about his feelings ever since felix and chan gave him advice to.
"well, it made me feel sad to think about it. i—i don't know, i was happy it happened to you but i was angry to think someone else could have you so easily." jeongin expressed. he was scraping his empty container of pudding as he ranted. he did not want to look at hyunjin as he did.
"so.. you want me?" hyunjin asked. his eyebrow raised slightly and he bit his lip to restrain his smile. jeongin scoffed slightly, smirking. he couldn't believe it sounded like a confession— so unplanned for.
"i don't know, hyunjin. i'm gonna be honest, i think i like you but," jeongin dropped mid sentence. hyunjin stayed quiet as he watched jeongin place his utensils down and look around his living room, still avoiding his own camera.
"i don't want to." he finished.
hyunjins smiled turned into a frown. he watched as jeongin focused his attention to something in the room to drop him from fidgeting. he took a deep breath before speaking.
"hey, jeongin.. i—i like you. like, really like you. i don't know what's stopping you but— i.. i just need to tell you." hyunjin confessed. he wasn't prepared to confess so suddenly— over a video call too. he's never done something like this before.
jeongin finally looked at hyunjin through his computer, his lips curling up slightly. his heart beat sped up as hyunjins confession echoed through his mind.
"if you don't like me, it's okay. i don't want to force you to feel anything." hyunjin spoke quickly as he realized jeongin wasn't saying anything. panic filled his eyes, thinking his feelings weren't reciprocated.
jeongin chuckled, "you're not forcing me, hyunjin. i think i just needed to hear it from you first."
the other boy sighed in relief, "what are we, now?"
