"Thanks for waiting baby," Spencer says as he slides into the passenger seat.
"You sure you okay with driving? I don't mind."

"I'm good. You always drive. Sit back and let me be your chauffeur."

"Yes, ma'am."

They ride in comfortable silence, Spencer staring at his championship ring (clearly in deep thought) for a few miles before Olivia speaks.

"So, you gonna tell me how that went?"

"Sorry...yeah. It was...I think your dad apologized. I'm not quite sure."

"Yeah that sounds like him," Olivia says remembering all the ways in which Billy would try to say sorry, without saying it, when she and Jordan were kids. "He never quite knew how to say sorry. He would just find a way to break the ice and hope for the best. Let me guess, did he give you one of his famous speeches?"

Spencer chuckles, "A Billy Baker classic!"

"How are you feeling about it all? I know you were hurt in the process..."

"I'm okay, Liv." Spencer turns to look out of the window. He feels her warmth before she even touches him. Olivia grabs his hand, quickly knocking him out of his thoughts.

"You want to try that one again?"

Spencer takes a deep breath. "I am okay. I will be. These past few weeks have been a lot. I could've really used the support of my coach, my friend, you know? He had a right to be upset with me, but it did feel a little like..."

"Rejection?" Olivia squeezes his hand.

He looks at her knowingly and lets out the breath he didn't even know he was holding. "Is it okay if I'm still processing? I promise to talk to you about it more later. I just..."

"You don't have to explain yourself. I get it."

"You always do."

The teens ride back to the Baker house with only their joint travel playlist playing along in the background. Before they knew it, they pulled up into their driveway. As usual, the driver would put the car in park and shut it off, never quite ready to end the night. Tonight, though Olivia held on to the steering wheel, not quite looking at Spencer, just staring straight ahead.

"Is this about dessert?" he asks trying to make her laugh.

She smiles but it doesn't quite reach her eyes. "Kind of..."

"We could've stopped by the house to get it before coming here. I'm sorry, Liv. I'll bring the cake by first thing tomorrow."

Olivia finally sits back. "No, silly. It's not that...but yes, cake - tomorrow - please!"

"Anything for you...Then, what's up?"

"Before our date, I had a chat with Nurse Joy..."

Spencer sits up quickly, taking Liv's hands in his: "Oh no. Does she think us dating is compromising your sobriety? Liv..."

"No, no, no. She was completely supportive. She said what we had was special."

"...and she would be right!" Holding both hands up to his lips, he softly places a kiss to her knuckles. "But if it's not that..."

Olivia speaks before her brain has had a chance to process what she's about to say. "Why...why haven't you brought up, us, having sex? Have you not wanted to? With me?"

Spencer is so stunned by her words that he drops his hands, wiping them on his pants as Olivia continues rambling, "I mean, we've been friends for awhile so I know you've never been shy about it. I know you and Layla...and Kia...is it me?"

He isn't really sure how to answer her. For the first time since they've started dating, he didn't know what to say to her. So he didn't try to. He just did.

Spencer stops her train of thought by pressing his lips against hers. They spent a lot of time doing that today, but he wanted her to know that this was different. She is a little taken off guard, but she sinks into it nonetheless. The kiss stays soft, full of pressure, but not desperate - enough to make them both feel it in their bellies, yet understand that they've got all the time in the world.

He pulls back, and she opens her mouth like she's about to talk so he kisses her once more.

"Are you trying to shut me up?" she says barely in a whisper.

"Maybe," he says as he pulls one of her twists in his hands. "Olivia, I need you to hear me when I say this...I have thought about being with you every single day since those stupid dare chips. I have thought about what you would feel like, how'd you taste, and what those beautiful eyes would look like rolled in the back of your head..."

"Spencer..."

"Hush lady, and listen. When we are ready, I am never letting you out of my bed again. I can't believe you would be crazy enough to think that I don't want this...that I don't want you. You're in my dreams babe, every night, and you are in my thoughts in the shower every day."

Olivia is beat red, a little too stunned to speak.

"I'm sorry if I've made you feel anything but how much I cannot wait to make love to you, Olivia Baker, for the first time and every time after that. You are remarkable, inside and out. I didn't care to wait with anyone else. I've done it but it didn't really matter to me. This matters to me. You matter to me, so much..."

He gets cut off by Olivia climbing into his lap, resting her head against his chest. They immediately fall into a comfortable position with him rubbing her back.

"That was pretty stupid of me, huh?"

"Ehhhh, it wasn't your brightest moment."

Olivia elbows him in the side and he feigns being hurt for good measure.

"You, ummm, said a lot."

"I meant every word."

"We lived down the hall from each other."

"...and it was torture."

"Thank you for being patient. Thank you for being you."

"You make it easy." He kisses her forehead, and they stay linked together for a few more songs.

"Alright, I should go. Call me when you get home?"

"I wouldn't miss it."

She reluctantly hops out of the car and waits until  Spencer comes around to the driver's side, giving him one more kiss for good measure.

"Make sure Dillon hasn't eaten all of my cake," she says as she skips towards her front door.

"You and this dessert," he exclaims while giving her a light tap on her ass.

"Hey, a promise is a promise."

Good thing he'll promise her forever when she's ready.
