Chapter 10

Kinabukasan, linggo ng hapon ay lumabas si Emerald ng bahay. Niyaya siya ni Eunice na lumabas. Hindi na siya nagtanong kung anong gagawin nila o bakit at basta na lang siya omuo dahil matagal-tagal narin nong huli silang lumabas. Sino ba namang may gustong gumala na may dalawang men in black na nakasunod ni hindi man lang nagtago para hindi niya makita.

Speaking of those two creeps. They weren't with her when she gone out of the house. And her dad did just even nod ng magpaalam siyang lumabas, which was very surprising for her. She already had an idea though. Balita nga naman, gusto pa atang pantayan qng speed of light. And Emerald had no other suspect in mind but Youseff. He must have told Edison about it and his very good brother spilled it to dad.

The good thing was, altleast her dad was true to his words. That he would lift this security thing if she end her realationship with Drake. And she could only hope that he would keep his promise to let go of Drake's family too.

If she only had known earlier that Drake was really not the man she thought and expected. Edi sana ay matagal na niya itong nahiwalayan at matagal narin sana siyang tuluyang naging malaya. Her dad should be glad now dahil nangyari na ang gusto nito.

Hanggang ngayon ay hindi parin niya alam kung ano ba talaga ang nasa likod ng pagkadisgusto ng dad niya kay Drake at sa pamilya nito.

Isang malalim na buntong-hininga ang kumawala kay Emerald at nagfucos na lamang sa pagmamaneho.

Hindi mabagal ang daloy ng trapiko kaya agad siyang nakarating sa building ng condo unit ng kaibigan sa pasig. Nasurprisa pa nga ito nang siya ang bumungad sa pinto nito.

"You weren't lying." She almost exclaimed.

Ngumuti lang si Emerald sabay angat ng kanyang kamay na may nakasabit na susi sa daliri. Susi iyon ng kotse niya na ibinalik ng dad niya kahapon at iyon rin ang ginamit niyang kotse papunta sa condo nito. Bakas sa mukha nito ang gulat at surprisa sa nakita na mas nagpalapad ng ngiti ni Emerald.

Nang makabawi ang kaibigan ay agad siya nitong nginisihan. "So, you finally have it back, huh." Anito at agad na nilakihan ang bukas ng pinto. "Come in."

"Yeah." Sagot niya papasok.

"When?"

"Kahapon lang."

Tumango-tango ito. "How?" Kyuryosong tanong nito. Ngunit agad din naman nitong napagtanto kung ano ang maaaring dahilan. "You gave him up. What a cruel girl."

Mapaklang tumawa si Emerald sa tinuran ng kaibigan. "I did not. It's more like 'he did'." Aniya.

"Oh!." Eunice only could say.

"Yeah. It's quite a long story." She breathed then took off her cute silver clutch bag and sunglasses from the top of her forehead then comfortably settled herself down the couch, putting her things beside her.

"It's okay. I have lots of spare time now anyway. But first, get up. I have something for you." As she gestured her to stand up then turned away.

Emerald got up right away, curious of what could Eunice have for her. Agad niya namang sinundan ito sa guest room. Pareho silang tumigil sa tapat ng pinto.

Emerald's brow rose. "That big?"

Eunice chuckled. "Yeah, he's big."

He? Emerald wandered. But before she could asked, Eunice had turn the knob to open the door then poke her head inside. And Emerald was startled when she heard a loud growl erupted from the inside.
