Shane's POV
Once I was out of the hospital a week later, we were chasing each other through my house. I caught up to her, and I picked her up, and I began spinning around. Then, I leaned down, and I kissed her lips. We both smiled.
"Shane, I love you."
"Catch up to me and you'll know how much I love you!"
I set her down, and I began sprinting.
I went out on the back patio, and I could feel her close behind me. I turned around, and I began running backwards. I jumped up into the grass, but when she followed me, she tripped over a squirrel. I caught her before she hit the grass.
"I love you...." I began breathlessly.
"That much."
Soon, she got her cast off. I was glad when she did, and I know she was, too.
A few weeks later, she and I were walking down the street, and neither of us were paying attention. She walked into a metal pole, and I heard the whack. It was pretty hard. Maybe harder than it was supposed to be.
"Whoa, are you ok?!"
"Yeah, I think I'll--"
She looked at me with a confused face.
"Deils, what's wrong?"
She shook my arm off of of her shoulders.
"Deils, what's going on with you?"
The only thing she said to me was
"Who the hell are you?"
"Delilah--"
"How do you know my name?"
"Because, I'm your boyfriend."
"I don't even know you!"
She began to walk away.
"Delilah, stop walking. You don't understand."
I finally got her to stop, and I took her to a hospital. She had some memory loss, and they said it might take a little bit to get back.
Without her, I'd die of a broken heart.
I don't know what I'd do without her.
But if it's going to be like this, even for a little while...
I think it's best if I forget her now.
