Zinia was helping the maid prepare breakfast. Their parents informed them that they will reach home in half an hour with Haya. Zinia was trying her best to help the maid but she couldn't do much. She hated to cook. Despite her mother's scolding she never even set foot in the kitchen to even make herself a cup of tea.

"Zinia beta ap jayein. Me kr loon gi sara kaam." (Zinia child you go. I will do everything). The maid Amna Bi said sweetly because Zinia was creating a mess in the kitchen.

"Nahi Amna Bi me help karti hoon na. Acha 8 cup tea me 16 spoon pati kaafi hogi na." (No Amna Bi I'll help. Okay, tell me 16 spoons tea leaves will be enough for 8 cups tea). Zinia said while adding the tea to the soccer pan.

"Ya Allah itni zayada pati. Zinia ye tumne kia kr dia." (Oh God that's so many tea leaves. What did you do Zinia). Amna Bi said while looking at the tea in the pan whose colour was close to black now.

Zinia was looking dumbfounded at Amna Bi who was making another tea now. And suddenly she heard someone's loud laugh.

"Wow, Zinia you are amazing. You made this black tea." Uzair said while making his way to the kitchen and looking at the ruined tea Zinia tried to make.

"Seriously tumhe chai bhi nahi banani ati. Kuch karna bhi ata hai ke nahi." (Seriously you don't even know how to make tea. Do you know how to make anything else)? Uzair said.

"Han mughe ata hai bohut kuch banana. Ap se matlab. (Yes I know how to cook). Zinia said angrily.

"Lakin kitchen ki halat dekh kr to nahi lg raha. Did you cut that onion? (But after seeing the condition of the kitchen I think no). Uzair said after seeing the onion that looked that someone tried to smash it with the hammer.

"Nahi wo to Amna Bi ne kata hai." (No Amna Bi cut that). Zinia said looking here and there.

"Arrey nahi Uzair beta. Isi ne kata hai mene apni zindagi ke 40 saalo me aisa piyaz nahi kata kabhi. Allah tobah." (NO! Uzair it was she wo cut that. I never cut onion like that in my 40 years of life). Amna Bi said over dramatically like it was an insult that she could ever cut an onion like that.

Uzair looked at Zinia and burst into laughter.

"Kuch zayda hi haasi nahi arahi apko. Aise has rahe ho ap jese khud to bara acha khana banana ata hai na." (Why are you laughing. You are mocking me as such you know how to cook yourself). Zinia said angrily and walked away while stomping her feet.

"Assalam-o-Alaikum! How was your journey?" Zakwan asked his parents.

"Walaikum-Salam! It was good." Usman and Asia replied.

"Ammi Babaaa." Zinia came shouting and hugged them.

"Kesa hai mera beta." (How is my child)? Usman asked lovingly to her daughter.

"Bilkul theek." Zinia chirped.

"Haya ye Zinia hai aur ye Zakwan." Asia said to Haya who was hiding behind her figure.

Haya slightly peeked at them and said her salam in a very light voice to which Zakwan was sure that if he wasn't listening to her very intently he couldn't have heard it.

"Zinia Show Haya her room so she can freshen up and can have breakfast with us," Asia said.

"Come Haya." Zinia grabbed her hand and made her way toward her room.

"So, this is your room. You can decorate it according to your wish." Zinia said.

Haya looked at the big room agape. It was light purple with a big bed and there was an attached closet room with a big bathroom.

"If you don't like it I can ask Ammi to change it," Zinia said after a while when Haya didn't speak anything.

"No, I like it. Thank you." Haya said in low and sweet voice.

Zinia smiled and said, "I know you must be tired but have breakfast before taking a rest."

"Okay. I'll just come after freshen up." Haya said.

"Okay," Zinia said and was about to go when Haya spoke.
"C..can you wait for me for five minutes," Haya asked looking down.
Haya knew that it was a big mansion and she would get lost in less than a second if she go out of her room on her own.

Zinia understood and said, "Don't worry. Take your time. I'm right outside your room."
Haya nodded and went to the bathroom.
After Haya did her business they both made their way toward the dining table.

When they reached there Haya saw two more males sitting. She sat with Zinia.

"Haya ye Zaviyar bhai hain. And the other person is not important." Zinia said pointing towards Zaviyar and Uzair.

He looked up and they both said their Salam to each other. Uzair who was sitting beside Zaviyar glared at Zinia who just shrugged.

"Asslam-o-Alaikum Haya. I'm Uzair." Uzair said smiling politely. Haya greeted him back with a timid voice.

Haya was confused for a minute. She remembered that all of the names of her siblings started with the letter Z. Because when they used to visit her house in their childhood she always mismatched their names. But maybe they decided to change their names. But her confusion vanished when Usmaan Khan spoke.

"Zakwan lad sahib kidher hain." (Zakwan where is the young lord).

"Zayan ke kisi dost ka accident hogya tha chota sa to wo subha waha chala gaya," (Zayan's friend came across a small accident so he went there). Zakwan said.

"Oh Haya hamera ik Zayan bhai bhi hain. Tumhe wo to yaad honge." (Oh haya we have a brother called Zayan as well. You must remember him). Zinia said.

Of course, Haya remember all of them but she didn't know which one was she talking about. When Zinia looked at her confused face she said.

"Arrey wohi jo bachpan me tumhare sari dolls chupa dete they. Just because you wouldn't play with him." (The one who always used to hide all of your dolls).

Haya nodded. Yes, she remembered him. He always used to make her cry.
They all finished their breakfast. They all went to rest.

"Come on Haya. Come." Zinia said while dragging Haya to the living room.

After Haya woke up it was already night. She was a heavy sleeper. She didn't know what to do. So when Zinia saw her finally awake she dragged her to the living room. Haya saw Zakwan and Uzair talking about something and Zaviyar who was as usual busy on his laptop. There were two big boxes of pizzas in front of them.

"Oh Haya come sit," Zakwan said when he saw the two girls approaching.

"So how are you settling so far? Are you okay with everything?" Zakwan asked.

"Everything is good. Thank you." Haya said.

"Don't need to thank us. It's your home too now." Zinia said.

After a few minutes of awkward silence. Zakwan look towards Uzair nudging him to say something to which he just made a confused face. Then Zakwan looked at Zaviyar who tried his best to avoid his brother scrutinizing gaze and dipped his head in his laptop. Zakwan wanted to kill both of them.

"What do you study Haya." Zinia finally broke the silence for which everyone was glad.

"I was in my second year of bachelor's before coming here. I studied in Multan branch of xxx University." Haya answered.

"Oh, that's nice. You can easily transfer to the Islamabad campus then." Uzair said.

"Oh my god. I go to the same university. But I'm in my third year. Don't worry you'll settle in no time here." Zinia said excitedly. This girl sure does gets excited about everything.

"But it's mid of semester. I think I have to skip it." Haya said sadly.

"Don't worry about that either. I'll give you my notes. I still have them." Zinia said.

"I don't think that's a good idea," Zaviyar spoke for the first time.

"Why. Bhai she needs to cover her syllabus." Zinia asked.

"Yeah. But you giving her notes won't help her. Here write something Zinia." Zaviyar said passing her a paper.

Zinia looked at her brother weirdly and wrote a line on the paper.

"Haya can you please read it," Zakwan said this time.

Haya nodded and looked at the paper confused. She tried to focus hard.

"I---a—m. Oh, I am." Haya said reading the first two letters.

Haya struggled with the next words. It looked like a baby who was still learning to write something.

"Oh god. You still have really, really bad handwriting." Uzair said after taking the paper from Haya and making a disgusted face.

"Fine, I'll ask Jiya to give you her notes. She has better handwriting than mine. Oh, I can't wait for you two to meet." Zinia said.

"Okay."

After that, they talked a bit more and returned to their respective rooms.

After a lot of tossing and turning in bed. Haya couldn't sleep. She had slept all day. And she was sure everyone else had already slept. She wanted to go to the kitchen to drink water and maybe even something to eat. But she was afraid. What if there is a ghost in this big mansion? And it will come from the dark and eat her alive. She remembered all the stories of ghosts her Daadi told her about. She loved these stories and begged her Daadi to tell her these stupid stories about ghosts. After a lot of thinking, she nodded to herself and made her way toward the kitchen hurriedly. She opened the fridge and started to find something to eat.

Meanwhile, Zayan after all day tending to his friend made his way home. He was humming a song and was going towards the kitchen when he saw someone's silhouette. He stopped in his tracks and gulped.

"It's just your imagination Zayan. There is nothing. Man up. Get the food and run to your room." Zayan said under his breath. For safety measures, he took a long wiper in his hands.

While Haya was looking in the fridge she heard someone humming. And then she heard footsteps coming towards her. She hurriedly closed the fridge and took a broomstick that was in the corner. And started walking outside the kitchen. And she ran into a wall.

"Wait. There wasn't a wall here." Haya thought.
Their eyes widened.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
AMI, BABA. CHURAIL, CHURAIL." (WITCH, WITCH). Zayan screams echoed throughout the mansion. While screaming the wiper in his hands also fell.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, BADI AMI. BHOOT BHOOT, GHAR ME BHOOT HAI." (Ghost, ghost, there is a ghost). Haya screamed and started beating the ghost with a broom stick in her hands.

"Ami, Koi bachao mughe. (Someone saves me). It's trying to possess me." Zayan screamed even louder when Haya started beating him.

Suddenly the lights turned on. They both startled again. Zakwan and Zaviyar stood at the entrance of the kitchen and the scene in front of them were no less than amusing. Their parents were standing right behind them.
Zayan was lying on the floor and Haya was standing in front of him beating him with a broomstick to a pulp.

"Haya." Zakwan said to stop her from beating Zayan.

"When Zayan heard his brother he ran up to him with a pale face and stuttered. "B..bhai. S..save me." And hugged him.

"Kia hua hai yaha." (What happened here)? Asia said from behind.

When Zayan and Haya saw her they both said at the same time.

"Ami Churail." Zayan said while pointing at Haya.
"Badi Ami Bhoot." And Haya said pointing at Zayan.

They both looked at each other confused.

"Ghost! Does my handsome face look like a ghost to you? And why did you beat me?" Zayan said loudly.

"You were the one who came here like a ghost with a wiper in your hands. I had to defend myself." Haya said feeling a little guilty.

"Defend!! You didn't even let me attack you. And who roams in the kitchen at midnight." Zayan said annoyed.

"Don't blame me. You were here too. It's not my fault." Haya said not feeling guilty anymore.

"Acha bs. Dekho Zayan tumne kia haal kr dia meri beti ka." (Okay stop, look Zayan what did you do to my daughter). Asia said hugging Haya.

"Begum, Take Haya to her room. Are you okay Haya." Usman khan said. To which Haya nodded.

Asia left with Haya while glaring at Zayan. Usmaan lightly slapped Zayan head and went with them. Meanwhile, Zayan was left with an open mouth. Until he heard some laughter behind him.

"Oh god. That was the best thing ever today. She beat you to a pulp." Uzair said laughing loudly. Zayan glared at him.

"If she wasn't a girl. I would have beaten her too." Zayan said angrily.

"Yeah sure. Have you looked at your face? It seems that you were too scared to even defend yourself let alone beat her." Zakwan said joining Uzair.

"I was not scared. I was just shocked. Okay." Zayan said and his face again paled remembering the incident.

"Look Zayan. The client sometimes says something which comes as shocking news to us. But that's a test. If you get shocked and do nothing, you will eventually lose. So, you have to act on impulse here. Do whatever comes into your mind but it should be some smart thing to do. In that way, you will be able to shut their mouths and will get the business done. Like Haya just did." Zaviyar explained in his business tone.

While the rest of them were just gawking at him with their mouths wide open.

"Um. Bhai in my case, there wasn't a client there was Haya whom I thought was a ghost trying to possess me." Zayan started sweetly but ended up being annoyed.

"Same difference. But you have to analyze the situation before the other party does." Zaviyar said again.

"Um. Okay. That's cool advice Zaviyar." Zakwan said staring weirdly at him.

"Yeah, great advice. We should all go to sleep now." Uzair said clearing his throat and they all went to their rooms.

When Zaviyar entered his room he saw Zayan lying on his bed.

"No way! You are not sleeping with me at any cost." Zaviyar said.

"Bhai, please. If I go to Zakwan bhai's room he will give me a lecture that I'm not a little kid anymore. And Uzair Bhai slept for one second after lying on his bed. And I'm not scared just shocked and before you give me another business lecture I'm going to sleep." Zayan said and covered himself with a blanket.

Zaviyar was looking at him frustrated. And lay on his bed in the corner.

"Scaredy cat," Zaviyar muttered under his breath and huffed. And Zayan hugged him from behind.

"What th--," Zaviyar said loudly. He hated when someone touched him in his sleep. And his brother was not even having a little one of bit.
And they both slept.

Hi, guyz! This chapter is basically about Haya's character.

It was more like a filler chapter.

Take care.
