Sobbing and crying sounds could be heard throughout the whole house. A petite girl was crying her eyes out. She was laying on her bed hiding her face in the pillow. It's been almost one month since her grandmother died. She had no one instead of her or at least she thought so. Due to her immense crying, she even started hiccupping. Her neighbor who was a sweet lady was sitting beside her trying to comfort her.

"Bass mera bacha, don't cry. Sb theek hojaye ga." (Shh my child. Everything will be alright). She cooed her.

The girl removed the pillow from her face and looked at the lady. She was beautiful. Due to her immense crying, her whole face became red and she was looking like a doll. Actually yeah she was a fragile doll. She had always lived under the shadow of her grandmother after her parent's death. She became quiet and reserved after them.

"Kese theek hoga khala. Wo log mughe is ghar se nikal dein ge." (How will everything will be alright. They will throw me out of this house). She said with a timid voice.

"Haya meri bachi tu rona to band kr. Tu dekh Allah koi na koi rasta zaroor nikal dega." (Haya my child stop crying. You see Allah will carve a way).

"Nahi kahla, mei itni buri hoon kya. Phele Amma Abu mughe chor kr chale gaye phir daadi ab ye ghar bhi mugh se le lein ge. Allah mere sath aisa ku kr rahe hain." (No aunt, am I that bad? First Mom and Dad left me then Granny. Now they will take this home from me. Why Allah is doing this all with me)? She cried.

"Aise nahi kehte Haya. Tu bohut piyari hai meri bachi. Allah pr bharosa rakh. Jb wo ik cheez ham se leta hai na to badle me hazar chezein deta hai." (We don't speak like that Haya. You are a good girl my child. Have faith in Allah. When He takes one thing from us then in return He gives thousand more things).

Actually, Haya's father was the only breadwinner of the family. But after his death, everything went south. Her granny used to work hard for Haya. Even after Haya grew up she started doing small things to earn money like giving tuition to children and sewing. They lived in a rented house. But after her grandmother's demise, Haya was heartbroken. They didn't pay rent for the last two months. And now the landlord is threatening that if she doesn't pay rent they will throw her out of the house.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Khala wo paise lene aye hain. Wo mughe ghar se nikal dein ge." (Aunty they are here to take their money. They will throw me out of the house). Haya got scared thinking that the landlords are there.

"Tu idher beth me dekhti hoon. Bahar mat ana." (You sit here, I'll see. Don't come out). She said and went to open the door.

"Assalam-o-Alaikum! Haya yahi rehti hai. Me Usman Khan. Haya se milne aye hain hum." (Does Haya live here? I am Usman Khan. We came here to meet Haya). Usman and Asia Khan were at their door.

Aunt was reluctant to let them in but finally, she agreed to it.

"Haya kaha hai? (Where is Haya)? Asia asked.

"She is in her room."

They all went to the room. Haya looked at the couple curiously with her tear-stained face.

"Ap log kon hain?" (Who are you)? Haya asked slowly.

"Pechana nahi apni Badi ammi ko." (You didn't recognize your Badi Ammi). Asia said lovingly.

"Badi Ammi." Haya whispered finally recognizing

Asia went towards Haya and hugged her and Haya started crying in her embrace.

"Shh Haya stop crying. I am here now everything will be alright." Asia said softly.

Haya hugged her even more tightly. Haya is a few months older than Zinia. When Haya was born Asia made her call her Badi Ammi because she didn't have any daughters at the moment. She loved Haya as her own. Haya was also very fond of Asia.
