Nova and Ember were, of course awake in their bedroom, doing their own thing. Nova reading an astrology book while Ember was gazing in to the beauty of the flame of her lighter that she stole.

But then they heard some ruckus coming down from the stairs, they agreed to seek out what the ruckus was. It was... their parents and uncle Wilbur? Why were they fighting? It was so loud that it made the twins wince as their mom's voice booms in anger. They decided to leave it alone and went back to their bedroom. Of course the noise didn't stop, and it made the two so stressed. It wasn't their fault that they were fighting, but they were basically in the middle of the mess and it made them feel awful. To the point that Nova stuffing his face into his pillow, trying to drown out the sound of his sobbing. While Ember? She was just sniffling and crying a bit. Cause she saw crying as what babies do.

A few days passed and their mom was now packing to leave them. They begged with tears, especially Amber, "PLEASE! MOM! DON'T LEASE US!" Ember sobbed out, falling onto her knees from the pain knowing that her mom is not going to come back soon anytime. It made Ember so frustrated and confused, Nova hugged Ember they both drowned into their own tears before they heard Mari was behind them. "Where did Mama go...?" The confused toddler asked, the twins didn't knew how to explain it to her. Nova spoke up, rubbing away tears from his cheeks. "Mama is.. just going out for a buiness trip, she'll be back soon, I promise," Sapnap, their mom, didn't come back soon.

Days turning into weeks, weeks turn into months, before the children was brought to court as their parents were officially breaking it off. Nova and Mari, said that they wanted to stay with their papa, Quackity. But Ember wasn't like them, she yelled, "I DON'T WANT TO STAY WITH DAD, I WANT TO STAY WITH YOU!" Her emotions were starting to spill out. "Please... I want to be with mommy.." she begged with a sob. Sadly that wish was simply unable to come true cause Sapnap was in no fit of taking care of his children anymore, he fucked it all up, his mistakes can never be reversed. In the end Mari, Nova, and Ember was in their father's custody.

Years later after their parents fall out, Nova and Ember has been the closest they've ever been, Nova teaching and helping Ember study, and Ember protecting Nova from those stupid bullies at school. Until one day, Ember has completely lost it, she can't handle being with her life here. She's miserable and mostly alone if it were not for Nova. So she got an Idea, what about they leave? Start a new life? Their papa wasn't a bad person, it was simply clear to them that papa didn't care much about them and is merely taking care of them in order not to go to jail. It took a bit before Nova agreed to run away.

The night was cold and dark, perfect for their escape, they have planned for everything, money, possible jobs that they can take up to sustain them, a place they have rented outside the city. It wasn't the best place but it was a good starting place. Ember got out first, andJust before Nova can leave, Mari caught him by window sill. "Broter? Where are you going?" Nova heart was wrecked. Nova came down the window sill, "We're going on an adventure, please don't tell our secret to papa, if papa knows we'll die, okay?" Mari was shocked but of course believed her brother, "Okay, have fun on your adventure!" "We will," Nova sighed as he joined Ember out of the window. Leaving Mari, and their old life behind.
