" 'Any outsider is considered a threat.' Is that to protect the Dwarves?"

Atreus questioned as his brother is quick to speak.

"Did you forget who that old crow sent Thor to our home to kill mother? I doubt it."

The three could hear Mimir scoff.

"You're right, little brother. Odin doesn't give a damn about these Dwarves, it has to be some ulterior motive behind it."

They're all met with an even brighter light, but due to Morpheus, their eyes didn't need to adjust. More beautifully and cozily crafted homes come into view, there were stands settled in various places with foods and small carriages, left astray. As it looked before, people were out of sight before the supposed threats had a chance to get to the other side of the sewer.

"Everyone seems to be hiding on this side too."

"Odin's occupation of this realm has its hooks in deep."

Mimir comments to the ginger's words, who continued the conversation.

"But there aren't any guards patrolling.. We're clearly not a threat. Why hide?"

"Resist and you're made an example of to keep the rest in line. Self-preservation can outweigh bravery for even the strongest of folk."

The winged lad jogged besides his brother, their mom a few feet behind them.

"Guess' fear is what's keeping them alive.."

The tan skinned woman's scarred browns scrunched together at such words, being forced to flee and work under fear would be a life she'd abandoned the moment she had the chance, though Y/N could understand. Odin is the All-Father of this realm, just as Zeus was over his own territorial atmosphere. She hasn't seen Mount Olympus in centuries, she wondered how it would look if she so happened to travel back there.

Athena, her adoptive mother or guardian, no longer spoke to so she assumed the Goddess of Wisdom had met her end long ago. Zeus and Hades, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Helios, and so on. The many Gods and Goddesses that went out their way to invade her dreams or sent mental messages or come into the form of different things had stopped.

This was a current thing, probably 20 to 30 years ago.

Her main familiars had been both Ares and Athena, Zeus also went out his way to check in on her and such, as if he looked at her as his one daughter, considering more gifts or always reminding her that she had a place within Olympus. A special seat on the other side of his throne, with his wife settled in the second biggest chair. Y/N accepted his offer, but only would she take it if there had been no meaning on the earth for her.

Adopting Morpheus and meeting both Kratos and Atreus changed that for her.

She wished they could have met those she looked at as family.

If only.

One of the kids, the youngest, decided to check more homes for possible information.

"Excuse me? But we're looking for—"

"—Nothing for you here! I don't care what you want. No food, no encouraging words, no, nothin'. LEAVE!"

Atreus looks back at his mother with a slightly dejected expression, those bright eyes then glance at his brother, before looking away to continue onwards. Morpheus uses his four sets of wings to follow behind him, casually twisting his body to ensure his mother and Mimir had been following. They continued down a wooden path, passing by locked doors and fearful dwarfs, hidden away by the hand of an evil leader.
