"I'm bored."

Kendall had been tutoring Daniel in the school library for almost an hour. He yawned for the ninth time.

"Princess, I'm bored," he said.

She rolled her eyes. "I heard you, Daniel."

He drummed his fingers on the table and stared at her concentrating on what she was writing. He liked how serious she looked when she was concentrating. He figured he'd be seeing it a lot and that was okay with him.

"You're staring," she said, without lifting her head.

He smirked. "What are you gonna do about it?"

She huffed, placed her pen on the table and lifted her head to look at him. His smirk widened at her obvious irritation.

"Focus," she demanded.

"Come on, we've been at this for almost an hour. I think that's enough tutoring for today," he begged.

She sighed. "Fine, let's go over some stuff for the whole fake dating thing," she said, lowering her voice to a whisper.

He nodded. "Okay, how did we meet?"

Kendall pondered a moment. "Why not just stick to the truth, through tutoring?"

"See, I knew I picked you for a reason, always with the smart ideas. That means my parents will also think I'm actually trying at school." He beamed.

Kendall deadpanned at the last part.

His laugh was genuine and Kendall's skin tingled at the beautiful sound. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'm here, aren't I?" he said.

She couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, tell me some stuff about you," she said.

He took a few moments to think before answering. "Well, um, my friends are Kai and Blake, I am 18 so I think I'm one of the oldest in our grade, I have a sister and brother called Ellen and Ben, I like weed." He smirked cheekily and Kendall rolled her eyes. "And... my favourite sport is basketball."

The last part surprised her. "Really?"

"Really, what?"

"You like basketball?"

"Yes."

"Do you play?"

"Yes."

"Not on the school team though?"

"Correct."

"Why?"

"I play on a team outside of school."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

There was a moment's silence as Kendall processed this information. "That's cool, I never knew that."

He nodded. "Your turn."

Kendall racked her brain for anything he might need to know as her fake boyfriend.

"Ok so I have a brother, Austin-"

"I already know that." He interrupted.

"Okay, stalker." She mocked, making him chuckle.

"I'm on the cheerleading squad, though you probably already know that. I am also 18 but my birthday was last week so I think you are older than me. My best friend is Ethan-" She paused as Daniel rolled his eyes.

"What?"

He put his elbow on the table and cupped his chin in his hand. "Nothing."

She looked sceptical, but continued. "Okay and I guess my favourite sport is Volleyball."
