"Oh, this. And this. This would look cute-" George got interrupted by a groan.
"George... We've been shopping for so long. You must have spent at least 200 dollars on Christmas decorations. Look-" Dream started rummaging through the cart, picking up items, specifically Christmas decorations for the house.
"Are you really going to use this?" George was silent for a moment.
"Maybe I will, maybe I won't." George snatched the item out of Dream's hand and quickly placed it back in the cart, continuing to walk down what seemed like endless isles of Christmas decorations.
"Alright, last thing. We have to get a mistletoe. You know, we can invite Karl over and get Sapnap and Karl under the mistletoe..." George talked, starting to giggle.
"Alright, fine. That's the last thing." Dream knocked the item out of George's hand into the cart.
While George was thinking of his Karlnap setup, Dream was thinking otherwise.
What if him and George managed to find themselves under it? Would he have to kiss George? Surely not. It's just a plant. It couldn't control his life.
But what if George did want to kiss him?
"Dream? Hello?" The sounds of beeping coming from the registers woke Dream out of his daydream.
"Oh, yeah, sorry. What's up?"
"I forgot my card..."
"Are you serious!?" Dream scoffed, grabbing his credit card from his pocket.
He didn't waste a time swiping the credit card and quickly putting it away, annoyed.
"There. Are we finally done?" Dream let out a big sigh as George slammed the car door, fastening his seatbelt.
"Yes. For now. Might do some more shopping tomorrow."
"I am NOT coming with you." Dream quickly said, starting the car.
The sound of plastic bags crinkled behind him in the back seat.
"I'm just kidding, I probably won't." George's soft smile still warmed Dream's heart.
The boys listened to Christmas music on the way home. Well, Dream didn't really have a choice.
George sang to every song that came on the radio, Dream joining in sometimes just to make George happy.
Finally they arrived home.
As Dream carried bags and bags of Christmas decorations in, he felt Patches moving in between Dream's legs every step he took, making sure to wrap her tail around Dream's legs every once in a while.
"Pa- AHH!" Dream quickly fell to the ground, the Christmas decorations going everywhere.
There was a frightened meow. Patches's fur went up in fright as she quickly jumped and fled.
Luckily none of the Christmas decorations were glass. Dream only trusted George with the glass ones because things like this would happen.
Glitter from some of the Christmas decorations spread out across the floor.
Dream, still on the ground, moved his eyes to Patches slowly strutting from her hiding place, the couch, to roll around in the glitter.
Dream groaned. He could hear giggles coming from the doorway.
George shivered, quickly closing the door and making sure not to let anymore cold air in.
"You okay?" George asked in his stupid British voice Dream always made fun of.
He quickly put the bags he had in his hands down before grabbing the hand Dream held up for help, attempting to pull him up.
Within a flash of his eyes, George was now on the floor with him. Dream pulled George down as he collapsed onto the younger one.
"DREAM!!" George shouted, laughing.
Dream quickly rolled over, placing himself on top of the brunette boy.
Dream leaned over George making eye contact. Well this wasn't really intended.
Dream's hands were locked onto George's small pale wrists.
Dream could feel himself starting to blush.
He quickly let go, toppling onto his back beside George.
There was silence for a while as both of the boys stared at the ceiling, taking in what just happened.
Little things like this have happened before, but they still wouldn't get used to it.
It was like they were destined to be lovers.
Dream always made the joke, but maybe it was true.
"George, I think I like somebody."
George was quiet for a moment, he felt his heart sinking. He had been thinking about slight feelings for Dream.
George silently sighed, trying to sound happy.
"That's good. I'm glad you found somebody."
Dream was sad that George didn't realize his crush was George, but maybe it was for the better.
There was more silence.
George started moving his limbs as if he was making snow angels.
"GLITTER ANGELS!" George started to laugh again, breaking the awkward silence.
Dream joined George. The only thing that was louder than their arms and legs swaying against the hard wood was Patches's purring. She was still rolling in the glitter.
"Alright, let's get this cleaned up." Dream finally got up, searching for the broom.
George and Dream sweeped up the mess and put the decorations back in their bags.
"Sorry Patches, we'll have to give you a bath later." Dream shooed Patches away as she tried her best to shake the glitter off of herself.
"We'll hang these up on the 3rd since we'll just have to give Patches a bath tomorrow. I think that's exhausting enough in itself." George laughed, putting away the broom and throwing away the glitter.
"That's probably good. Sapnap gets back tomorrow anyway so he can help us decorate!" Dream smiled, washing his hands free of glitter.
"Yeah, finally. I don't think I can stand this awkward tension any longer."
