4: First Assignment

3rd Person.

As the newly christened Delta Squad returns to Earth's surface, Sev wonders what would his new mission in this world. His main goal is finding a way to return home but he felt that he has to help them for now as he did owe one of their Nikkes for saving his life, regardless of the circumstances.

Neon: "So... This is the surface."

Anis: "First time?"

Neon: "Roger."

Sev: "Don't say that twice."

Neon: "It's so... big. The sky isn't buzzing. It's nothing like I've ever seen before. The air composition is the same, but somehow it just feels so different.

Anis:" It will wear off in a day or two. We're guaranteed to run into Raptures within an hour. This is no time for sightseeing. If you stay too long, You'll get a nice heavy dose of electron beams straight to the brain."

Sev: *In sarcastic tone* "Look who finally decided to be serious for once."

Shifty "Yes, You must act quickly. The objective of this operation is to investigate the control room of the power station. Scanning the area. Aerating. Clearing out Alva particles. Concentration 42.23%..... 21.48%... Alva particle concentration 2.01%. Scanning finished."

Sev: "Anything else you would like to say?"

Shifty: "According to the scan, You'll have to follow the maglev train tracks to reach the power station. A high-voltage current is running along the line. It's not an issue for the Nikkes, but the Commander..."

Sev: "A little electricity isn't enough to stop me."

Anis: "What are you talking about? You'll die."

Rapi: "Where is the current coming from?"

Shifty: "Retrieving history. The city was closed five years ago to prevent any Raptures from escaping. Seems it was deliberately leaked from the outside. The line was close to completion, so it's generating electricity autonomously."

Anis: "What about the humans inside the city?"

Sev: "If I'd know better, They're either dead or a handful of them are hostages."

Anis: "Well, considering we don't know what we'll run into, they should stay inside."

Rapi: "Our first order of business is cutting off the power to the line. Is there any way we can do that?"

Shifty: "Yes, I will mark the location of the control room on the map."

Sev: (Advisor does a better job than you Shifty, but since I'm in no position to complain, I'll let this slide for now.)

Rapi: "Commander, I'm ready."

Sev: "Delta Squad, Forming up!"

Rapi, Anis, and Neon: "Yes, Commander."

Sev led the way again with Rapi just close by while Anis and Neon guard their rear. After an hour of fast pace walk, Sev then signaled his squad to form a defensive perimeter as he detected multiple Raptures approaching.

Sev: "Ah, Target practice."

The Raptures charged at them but Sev picked them off one by one from a distance through his DC-17m sniper rifle configuration. Rapi, Anis, and Neon then opened fire as they opted to protect their Commander.

Neon: "Ah!"

Anis: "Rapi!"

Rapi: "Commander, Get behind me. Shifty, watch our backs."
