word dump: iris grew up in a rather absent household. their mother is a registered nurse, and their father is deployed in the military, so it is a rare occasion that iris sees either of them at the same time, or at all on any given day. however, having two parents with well paying jobs and no supervision occasionally has its perks.
because her mother is so absent, she feels guilty for not being available, and often attempts to make it up to iris in the form of gift giving-- mainly by ordering food when iris asks, or even leaving her card with her so she can get her own food/whatever she needs for her own entertainment.
iris makes her own money at school by monopolizing lollipops; 50 cents per sucker and two dollars for three, she makes a decent bit of money just by doing that. however, iris is most known for her time spent in detention. either because of the dress code or her own experimentation with partners, she spends more after school time there than anywhere else.
