The sun beat down as you stood on the doorstep, waiting patiently as Bucky rolled up outside your house. He opened his door first, and a moment later the passenger door opened too, your dad stepping out. You caught Bucky's eye for a moment; you were both thinking the same thing.
I'm so glad he's back, but now our little bubble has been burst.
Since the night at the club, only a few days had passed by, but it had been complete bliss. Bucky had barely left your house since dropping you off that afternoon, and when he wasn't at work, he was by your side. You had never felt so at ease in someone else's company, and he had really made himself at home. But now your dad was back, and the days of happy bliss that you had experienced were at an end; there was no way you could carry on the way that you had been now that he was home.
"It's good to see you, honey," your dad said as he reached the top step, pulling you into a hug. The three of you made your way into the house, your dad dropping his bags at the bottom of the stairs. You slumped down onto the couch, your dad falling into the armchair in the corner whilst Bucky made everyone tea.
"Is this your shirt, Buck?" You dad asked, and you glanced up quickly to see your dad picking up one of Bucky's shirts from the back of the armchair.
"Oh, yeah!" He called from the kitchen. "I stayed in the spare room a few times while you were away. I must've left some stuff lying around."
It unnerved you at how easily it was for him to lie.
"Guess that would explain your laptop and your favourite coffee mug on the coffee table as well?" Your dad asked, leaning forward in his seat, raising an eyebrow. Your head spun to the kitchen where you could see Bucky pause, clearly thinking about his answer. Before he could answer, your dad chuckled. "Looks like you've moved in, Buck! Really I should thank you for keeping such a close eye on Y/N while I was away."
"It's no problem really," Bucky smiled as he appeared with three cups of tea. "I quite enjoyed it actually. We had a nice time."
He threw you a quick wink, just as your dad looked down to take a sip of his tea, causing heat to rise up in your cheeks.
"You know what we should do?" Your dad asked suddenly. "We should have dinner together to celebrate me coming home. Buck, maybe you could invite Nat as well?"
"Oh," Bucky paused, shifting awkwardly in his seat. "Me and Nat aren't really exclusive, honestly I don't think it's doing to work out."
"Nonsense!" Your dad chuckled. "I'll text her. It'll be nice, all of us together. Let's say, 8pm here, tonight?"

You took a deep breath, looking at yourself in the mirror. You had chosen an off-the-shoulder red velvet dress, one that dipped down to your cleavage only a little; enough that your dad wouldn't think it inappropriate, but that you knew Bucky would be staring at it all night.
You weren't looking forward to this dinner, watching Natasha throw herself at Bucky all night while you had to remain your dad's prim and perfect daughter. You smoothed down your dress, before making your way downstairs, accepting a night that you knew would be a nightmare.
Bucky and Natasha were already there, sitting at the kitchen island with a drink each whilst your dad was cooking. Bucky caught your eye the second that you entered the room, tracing your figure up and down, licking his lips slowly; you couldn't help but smirk.
"Y/N, you look beautiful!" Natasha beamed as she rose to her feet and engulfed you in a tight embrace. She herself looked incredible, a skin tight, black dress and golden chain around her neck, her hair curled upwards to perfection. All it did was make you even more jealous. But you knew that Bucky wanted you, not her. That's what he had told you, and you trusted him. They weren't actually together, they weren't official or exclusive, there was no need to be jealous.
