His Sunshine Girl

Hwa-Ryeong looked at the girl who thanked her. The girl gave a smile and bowed respectfully before walking away.

"Who is that girl? Is she not on our list of crown princess candidates? I'm sure she is a daughter of aristocrats," Hwa-Ryeong asked consort Ko and consort Tae. Consort Ko hurriedly checked the list and then shook her head.

"Omo omo omo...I know Mama, that girl is the eldest daughter of the minister of war, Yoon Soo-gwang," exclaimed consort Tae.

"If the eldest daughter of the Minister of War means she is on the debimama's side," Consort Ko reminded her. Consort Ko knows that Hwa-Ryeong really likes that girl.

"Please invite her to have tea with me," said Hwa-Ryeong.

The girl's only weakness was that her father was on the debimama's side. Hwa-Ryeong can't just let go of that girl. A beautiful, confident, brave, and wise girl beyond her years, she deserves to stand side by side with her son.

"I already have someone I love," said the girl happily.

Hwa-Ryeong smiled, and she held back her disappointment. The girl named Yoon Cheongha looks proud and gushes about how good the man she loves is.

From Cheongha's reaction, she knew there was no chance that her son would get this girl.

"Do you want to see what he looks like?" Yoon Cheongha asked.

Don't want to disappoint the sweet girl in front of her, Hwa-Ryeong agreed. Although she was disappointed she couldn't persuade the girl to become her daughter-in-law, she was happy to see the sparkling eyes of a girl who was in love.

The girl took out a painting of a young man carefully. The painting looks shabby. It must have been old and seen often.

As soon as she saw the painting, Hwa-Ryeong froze. Since when did her son have someone outside the palace? She could understand if it was her third child, but her second child? Hwa-Ryeong's eyes blinked a few times and but the image in the painting was still her son.

"Where did you meet this young man?" Hwa-Ryeong asked.

"Ne?"

Seeing Cheongha's confusion, Hwa-Ryeong was sure that her son had never mentioned his status.

"The young man in this painting is the crown prince," Hwar-yeong said. She cannot hide her happiness. She was always concerned about her son's cold nature, finding out that her son secretly had a girl was a pleasant surprise.

It took some time to convince Cheongha. From their chat, Hwa-Ryeong could conclude that Cheongha and her son spent time together on Manwol-do. Is Cheongha the reason for her son's awkward gestures?

Hwa-Ryeong smiled as Cheongha ran out then stopped to wave at her, promising they would meet again at the palace.

"Could there be a girl you keep in your heart, Seja?" asked Hwa-Ryoung. She invited Yi Kang to talk about the selection of the crown princess. During the conversation, Hwa-ryoung could see her son was very distant. Her son said he would accept whoever the elders chose for him as his responsibility as crown prince.

But when that question was asked, Hwa-ryoung could see the change in her son's expression. His face paled and his eyes shook. Hwa-ryoung realized that the girl she met this afternoon meant so much to him.

"Kang-a?" called Hwar-Yeong to wake her son up. His mind must be flying somewhere else, there is no doubt he must be thinking about Yoon Cheongha. Upon hearing his mother's call, the crown prince immediately adjusted his expression. He smiled and gave Hwa-Ryeong a forced smile.

"No one eomamama, you can choose the crown princess with peace of mind," Yi Kang replied.

Hwa-ryoung really did her best to hold back laughter. She wanted so badly to tell her son how miserable his face was. You don't have to be a mother to see how heartbroken he is when he says he doesn't have a woman to love. Even strangers could see how tormented he was.

Hwa-ryoung understood very well that his son wanted to take the responsibility of being the crown prince earnestly. He certainly did not want to disappoint his late brother. If letting go of the woman he loves is included then he will do it.

"Okay then, your mother will do what's best for you," Hwa-Ryeong said with a smile. She will make sure Yoon Cheongha gets the crown princess seat.

Hwa-Ryeong actually wanted to say something about Yoon Cheongha, especially when he saw her son's blank stare when he said goodbye. But remembering that her son did not want to be honest, she restrained herself. She respects Yi Kang's decision to keep Yoon Cheongha's existence a secret.

"Mama head royal guard Choi has come," said Shin sanggung, suddenly broke her reverie.

"Tell him to come."

Hwar-young nodded her head, acknowledged the respectful greeting given by the guard Choi. He is the palace guard chosen by the king himself to guard her.

"Keep an eye on the crown prince during the election of the crown princess, give the report every three days about what the crown prince is doing," Hwa-Ryeong said to guard Choi. Hwa-Ryeong could see guard Choi and Shin sanggung's surprised look , but she ignored it.

"Mama, why do you have to watch over the crown prince? If he finds out, won't it hurt the crown prince?" as soon as guard Choi left, Shin sanggung asked Hwaryeong directly.

"Men who are in love are unpredictable, especially if you have to give up not being with the person you love. I'm just making sure everything goes according to plan," Hwa-ryeong said with a smile.

Shin sanggung widened her eyes. If it wasn't Hwa-Ryeong herself who said it, she wouldn't believe a man as cold as the crown prince could fall in love.

Queen Hwaryeong couldn't hide her laughter when she saw the guard Choi's report. She laughed until tears came to her eyes and her stomach hurt. Seeing the queen's reaction, Shin sanggung was curious. The queen handed the report she was holding to Shin sanggung.

"Seja jeoha must really like that girl," commented Shin sanggung after reading the report.

Hwa-Ryeong nodded in agreement. Occasionally she chuckled when she remembered her heartbroken son's behavior.

In the report, it was written that almost every day crown prince secretly went to the astronomy tower without any guards. He sneaks out every morning to watch the sunrise.

It's been a month and the crown prince is still doing it. The entire palace knew that the crown prince loved watching sunsets, but they didn't know that the crown prince liked sunrises much more than sunsets.

"I hope they get married quickly, it's a pity to see Seja jeoha brokenhearted," said Shin sanggung with a smile. She also finds this funny. If only crown prince were honest with his mother, he would not be tormented like this.

"Just let it go, just imagine how happy he will be when the girl he loves officially becomes his wife," said Hwa-ryeong, smiling.
