"Debi-mama will make a move as soon as possible," Queen Im declared, determined to counter Debi-mama's plans. As soon as she received the information that Debi-mama had summoned Physician Song to her residence, she invited her son to discuss their strategy. Aware of the risks involved, Queen Im felt it was crucial to inform Yi Kang, as his wife was directly involved.
Yi Kang couldn't hide his surprise. "Are you certain, Eoma-mama?" he questioned, his voice filled with concern.
Queen Im nodded with a grave expression. "After what happened with your brother, I refuse to make the same mistake. I have already taken steps to protect Physician Song, as he plays a crucial role in Debi-mama's plans. Yesterday, she called him to her residence."
Yi Kang's disbelief was evident. "What does she want?" he inquired.
"She wants the physician to deceive us, claiming he misdiagnosed the crown princess, and then she intends to harm your unborn child," Queen Im revealed, her voice tinged with sadness.
Yi Kang's laughter rang hollow. "Did I hear correctly? My own grandmother wants to harm my unborn child?" he questioned.
Queen Im avoided his gaze, knowing the weight of the truth she had just shared. She had refrained from revealing to Yi Kang that Debi-mama had orchestrated the assassination attempt during Taekhyon for this very reason. The pain of knowing that one's own blood wanted them dead was almost unbearable.
"I know a long time ago she hate me very much. But to kill my child? Her own great children?" Yi Kang hissed.
Yi Kang abruptly stood up from his seat, his face contorted with anger.
"Where are you going?" Queen Im asked.
"I'm going to confront that wretched woman," he declared, his eyes ablaze with fury.
"Sit down," Queen Im commanded firmly, her voice leaving no room for argument.
"No, Eoma-mama!"
"Sit down!"
"I CAN'T JUST STAY STILL" Yi Kang screamed.
"If you act impulsively, you may inadvertently put your wife and child in danger," Queen Im reasoned, her voice softening as she pleaded with her son.
"Seja..." Queen Im's voice quivered with emotion as she implored him.
"I can endure anything for myself, but I cannot allow any harm to come to Cheongha, Eoma-mama," Yi Kang admitted, his voice filled with vulnerability.
"I understand, Seja. But it is essential to carefully calculate our every move. One wrong step, and we could lose everything," Queen Im advised.
"Take a deep breath. Calm yourself," she urged, trying to help Yi Kang regain control over his frayed emotions.
Yi Kang took a deep breath, attempting to steady his ragged breaths. His body still trembled with anger, but he made an effort to regain composure.
"Let's go along with Debi-mama's plan. Let her believe that we are falling for the misdiagnosis drama," Queen Im suggested, laying out their strategy.
"But--" Yi Kang opened and closed his mouth several times. But he can't counter his mother's opinion.
"It will lower Debi-mama's guard. It will be easier for us to protect your wife. If we dismantle her plan now, she will only come up with another scheme," Queen Im explained, hoping to convince Yi Kang of the necessity of their approach.
A brief silence hung in the air as Yi Kang furrowed his brow, deep in contemplation. He must be weighed the options, considering the best course of action to safeguard his wife and unborn child.
