THE SMALL MOTORIZED boat drove through the water as the mist and waves made their way onto everyone. The oil rig was in the middle of the ocean and going this far out into the ocean, was seriously making Carmen have some doubts about coming all the way out here. Her hands rested on the sides of the boat and tried to hang on to the best of her ability without trying to fall off.
"If Valeria told the truth, we board, clear, disarm that missile." Graves shouted out over the sound of the boat engine and the waves crashing onto the boat.
"And if she's lying?" Alejandro asked, keeping his balance.
"Ha. God help her." Graves looks ahead of the boat as they get closer.
"God help us all." Soap looked at Carmen before looking away. Her bun was starting to fall apart at the back of her head. The small strands of hair stuck to her neck as the water had seeped its way to her hair.
"Be ready for anything, this could be a trap. . ." Alejandro said Soap, looking at him.
Carmen scoffed as she tried to keep her balance, "Knowing Valeria, it probably is."
Graves perked at her words, "How do you know Valeria?" He looked at her and waited for a response. Her outburst earlier was needing an explanation and if this was the way to find out, he was going to remember it.
She glanced at him, he doesn't need to know, "Long story."
Short and simple. Just the way she liked it.
The boat had finally came to a stop under the oil rig and Carmen was the first to attach to the zip line and held on tight as the wind made the rope sway. Alejandro didn't approve of his sisters actions, but couldn't say anything as she was far ahead of him.
She grabbed ahold of the railings with both her hands and pulled herself up and over. The gun on her shoulder had been moved around to the front of her body and aimed in front of herself.
The knife in her side waistband had been pulled out and tossed at the guard, striking him in the head. Everyone else had gotten up from the boat and continued further.
Soap was the last on up from the boat. Carmen reached her hand out for him to grab and he did. She let go once he was over and moved towards her brother. Alejandro and Carmen made their way up the stairway with their guns trained up and eye level for any surprising sneak attacks.
The door a level up opened which Alejandro aimed his gun and pulled the trigger, hitting both men in the head.
Carmen turned right to head to the small shed that had a small light coming from inside. One of the men from behind stood in front of the door and waited for Alejandro's signal to enter. When he did, the door opened but the man was dead.
Carmen grabbed the flash bang off her chest and pulled the pin before throwing it in, "Flash out!"
She waited until the sound of the flash went off before entering and taking the dazed cartel members out with her automatic weapon. Alejandro followed behind her as she entered the shed. Soap was right behind Alejandro.
"Pinches cabrones know we're here." Alejandro stated as he left the shed.
"All shadows, force out! I want eyes on that container now!" Graves yelled into the mic.
The group ran out of the shed and saw the flare entering the sky. Carmen jumps over a highway concrete barrier, one leg after the other. She ducks below the top of the barrier and checks her ammo before peaking over the top of the barrier to take out any remaining enemies.
Soap takes the stairs to the upper part of the oil rig. Must be where the missiles are. As she moved forward after him, she made sure to check every crevice of the area. She was not going to do what she did before this mission. She caught up to him as there was a door that unopened. They nodded to each other before Soap pushed open the door and was immediately shot at.
There was a second where no bullets flew at them and Carmen took her chance and aimed her gun down the hallway and pulled the trigger. The recoil was unnoticed as they were already moving further down the hallway.
Each door had been opened and cleared. Further up the oil rig, Carmen and Soap had met up with Graves. A container resided on the Helicopter landing pad and when Soap pulled the container door open, there was nothing. An empty container. Carmen turned to Graves, giving him the 'I told you so' look.
"Where are the controls?" Soap asked, looking at the container.
"On that damn ship." Graves stated with irritation.
"Actual, we got a problem, missile is armed- controls are somewhere on the ship." Graves spoke into the mic, waiting to hear General Shepard's response.
"Son, you have your orders - stop that launch."
"Alejandro, Carmen, take over watch. Soap, you're with me. We're moving to that ship." Graves ordered, giving Carmen a look of something she couldn't put on her finger. She knew it wasn't good. Her eyes glanced at Soap but he didn't look.
"We'll keep you covered, hermano." Alejandro nodded at the men before getting ready to cover them.
Some time went by where Alejandro, Carmen, and the Shadows were covering their men inside the boat not too far from the oil rig when Ghost's voice came through the mic.
"All stations- Clear the rig now, I say again- Clear the rig!!"
"Roger- what's the count?" Alejandro asked as he ushered his sister down the stairs from the top level. He was practically shoving her down.
"One minute." Graves responded.
"Copy, on the move!"
Carmen had gotten onto the boat with ten seconds left of the timer. The boat had quickly moved through the waves before the oil rig had exploded from the missile.
The aftershock of the explosion had almost knocked her off the boat if it weren't for Alejandro who grabbed her arm right before her body could fall into the ocean below her.
"Alejandro, you okay?" Graves asked.
"Holy mother of God- that was fucking crazy, man!!" He was excited. His adrenaline was rushing through his body like crazy. Carmen let out a small smile after watching the excitement from her brother.
"You guys safe?" Soap asked, his accent coming through the mic clear.
"Affirmative. You?"
"We're good here, hermano."
