Bhekani Zulu POVMy name is Bhekani Zulu , eighteen year old from oLundi eMahlabathini
The only son of the Late Nkosinathi Zulu and Philisiwe Dube, unfortunately life has been hard since my dad died, mom barely copes with all the pressure, and l love her so much. This following weekend, we are officially moving to Gauteng , Even though l'm stressed, afraid and anxious about all of this l'm still willing to learn, but we have to move forward without uNdabezitha, l miss him so much
I'm packing my last bag , l hear a knock "Ngena! (Come in)" "Khehla!?" My Mom says, and l really hate that name ngathi ngingumkhulu "Mah , why ungibiza ngekhehla , ngigugile kanti" l'm squinting my eyes waiting for any answer or at least any explain , she busted out of laughter, it's lovely to see her laugh it's been a while " Haw Bhekani uZulu ebekubiza kanjalo nje" She's so Zimbabwean and very proud " and l want to keep his memory alive atsho khehla " she says eyeing my last bag, " Are you ready for everything Kodwa Bhekani "
Honestly l'm not but l'm willing to do anything to improve our lives, it's unfair to leave my father here but l have too" Yebo Mah , we have go so that life will be easier for us in Gauteng" she smiles and frown quickly " l miss your father and l know you think it's wrong for us to leave him here, but he also would have done the same thing " how..!? Ohh l forgot she's gifted " l understand mama , stop worrying, l will study hard and probably come back with Makoti" l say with a smirk, " Uyahlanya wena" she replies making me laugh " Just l love you " she said, cupping my cheeks and bringing me to a hug, they do say a mother's love is the best thing in this world and l really appreciate it.
Lindelani walks in... Ubafo my best friend "Sekunjalo? ( It's time?) " he says the moment he steps in my bedroom , l sigh " Bafo.. eish sekunjalo ( it's time bro)" l can see the worry in his eyes "Kodwa uzovakasha Bafo" He says, that just confirms that l'm actually leaving my best friend here oLundi " Yes , you always be uBafo" We fist pump " Ngizokukhumbula Bhekani, no cap" I laugh, he's not the emotional guy " Don't worry sarn , l will make sure that l visit on holidays, but at least you have Sindiswa , you won't miss me that much" l laugh as l take my last bag to the car. " Uthole intombi keh Bafo ( get yourself a girlfriend)" he says laughing, it's time, now we hug like girls, ewww, but it's okay l'm going to miss my childhood friend " Mageba" he says after pulling from the hug "Mtungwa" we do the last fist pump and l get in the car " you ready?" She asks, l nod then reply " l'm ready". That's it l'm leaving Lundi at least l went to my father's grave and talked to him about everything, l'm at peace. Here we come Gauteng.
6 hours later,we arrived but we first bought food, yhoo hunger was going to kill me , she got a Three bedroom house in Bosburg and just 2 kilometres away there's a school so mom is going to register me there but mostly I'm more interested in learning new things, it seems this is going to be a new start.
"Khehla we have to get some clothing and uniform , l will send R1000 for you to buy everything you need, don't over spend angisho" aahh my mom " Haww Mama , ngiyabonga my Queen" she smiles " My pleasure khehla, please make sure you make your father proud, ungashitshi atsho" hearing those words, my heart just aches, l know how much she misses him, their love was mind blowing. He loved her though thick and thin " Ngiyezwa Mah, Ngizoziphatha kahle". This is a life Time opportunity l have to use it
