Heart of Flames

Targaryen's are thought to be closer to gods than men, with their dragons on their side no other ever dared to oppose the Targaryen Dynasty. Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters conquered the seven kingdoms on the backs of their dragons and thus started their long-standing rule with Fire and Blood.

Many great individuals had come out of the house of the dragon, all with different gifts. However, one of the most prized yet misunderstood of these gifts was those who possessed the divination of Dragon Dreams. Many debated whether it truly was a blessing or a curse.  Since Daenys the Dreamer, who had the prophetic ability to predict the fall of Old Valyria, there had been few with this talent that had significantly altered the course of history. That was until the second daughter of the fifth King of Westeros as born in 97 AC on a warm summer day.

Laerella Targaryen, the second daughter of King Viserys I and Queen Aemma, was said to be a second coming of her great-grandmother the Good Queen Alysanne. With her white-blond hair and soft lavender eyes there was no mistaking that she was a Targaryen princess. Laerella was very close with her elder sister Rhaenyra Targaryen, but they could not have been more different. Where Rhaenyra was bold and mischievous, Laerella was mild-tempered and dutiful. Despite their differences they were always seen flying over the capital together to escape from their royal duties.

Like many gentle souls, Laerella was often drawn to those who live on the balance of good and evil. The people who do not feel bound by the expectations and constraints of society, if even only to catch a glimpse of a life she would never be permitted to live. Laerella often found this in Daemon Targaryen, the Rogue Prince, who cared little for his duty or the consequences that would surely follow. He cared for little else above his Valyrian heritage and the freedom that he was free to chase in all of his endeavors. She admired her uncle, for everything he was and everything he wasn't. He was the living embodiment of the blood of the dragon.

Laerella had many things that was greatly admired about her; she was studious, a dragon rider, a friend to all, and loyal to all she loved. However, above all else Laerella was a dreamer. Waking at all hours of the night with dreams that she could rarely decipher on her own. This was one of the only things she had in common with her father, he too had dreams that were more than just the product of a wandering subconscious.

The intuitive dreams prepared her for most things to come, but nothing prepared her for Daemon.
