Steve's POV:

I was in the training room this morning lifting weights when I suddenly heard a bang, I looked up and saw y/n stumble into the room rubbing her forehead muttering "I swear that door wasn't in that position before"

"Are you alright y/n?" I asked her, concerned as I walked over to check her head.

"Yeah, I just walked into the door" she giggled, "my head hurts a bit though"

"You've got a bit of lump coming but you should be alright, do you want me to get you an ice pack?" I offered her as I led her back up to the kitchen.

"Yes please, thanks Steve" she said gratefully as she sat down at the kitchen island.

"Here you are" I said as I passed her the ice pack.

"Thanks" she said as she held it to her forehead.

Y/N's POV:

I don't know what's been going on recently, I've been so clumsy and I have so many bruises now.

It feels like something too minor to tell my mom so I just decided to leave it and try and be more careful.

"Thanks miss!" I said as I walked out of my lesson but somehow I completely missed the door and thumped my head on the wall.

"Ouch" I said, stumbling backwards.

"Y/N, are you alright?" my teacher said as they rushed over to check on me.

"Yeah I've just been super clumsy at the moment, I'm fine" I tried to reassure them.

"Have you had your eyes checked recently? It may be that you need glasses and that could be the cause for your clumsiness" my teacher suggested.

"Hmm, no I can't remember the last time I had my eyes checked, good idea thanks miss" I said as I went to walk out the classroom.

"Hey, y/n, why don't I give your mom a call now and see if she can book you an appointment?" my teacher offered.

"Really? That would be good she might take it more seriously if it comes from a teacher" I said laughing as I went to sit back down at a desk.

Natasha's POV:

I was just sat in the living room with Steve watching Stranger Things, when my phone started ringing.

I left the room and picked up the phone to y/n's teacher, "Hello, Ms Romanoff, have you a minute to discuss something about your daughter?" she asked.

"Of course, is she okay?" I asked, getting slightly worried.

"Yes, she is fine, I have just noticed her clumsiness recently and was wondering if it might be a good idea for you to take her to get an eye test" she asked me.

"Yes I have noticed that as well, that's a good idea, I can't believe I didn't think of that, I feel like such a bad parent" I responded, suddenly overcome by a wave of guilt.

"Don't feel bad Ms Romanoff, these things happen to the best of us" her teacher laughed.

"Thank you for the suggestion, see you at parents evening" I said before hanging up the phone.

"What was that?" Steve asked as I walked back into the living room, "it was y/n's teacher, she's noticed how clumsy she's been and suggested getting her eyes tested, I can't believe I didn't think of it, I feel like such a neglectful mother" I responded.

"She's got a point, y/n has been very clumsy recently, but don't beat yourself up about it, you weren't to know" Steve reassured me.

"Thanks Steve, I'd best to ask Bruce if he could examine y/n's eyes soon" I responded as I headed down to Bruce's lab.

Y/N's POV:

Since my teacher suggested to my mom that I might need glasses, she got Bruce to check my eyes for me and today we find out whether I need glasses or not.

"So the good news is that we know the reason for your clumsiness now, you do need glasses!" Bruce told me and my mom.

"That's cool, do I have to wear them all the time?" I asked.

"Mainly just when you're reading and watching things but it won't hurt to wear them around the compound and school seeing as you've been walking into things a lot" Bruce told me.

"Thank you so much Bruce, I'm so sorry I didn't get this checked earlier y/n" my mom said as she pulled me in for a hug.

I embraced her warm body and breathed in her cinnamon scent as I said "it's alright mom you weren't to know"

A/N: this felt quite random but I like how it flowed so I hope you enjoy, and again I couldn't work out how to finish it so sorry if it feels quite abrupt!
