"sophia are you ready yet, we need to hit the road its a four hour car drive" john called up the stairs. he checked his phone, they really needed to go, he knew she was just nervous. "coming" she yelled as she ran down the stairs and out the front door. john locked up and opened the car to get started. sophia hopped in, heart racing but telling herself to calm for the four hour drive ahead. filled with mindless chatter and music they finally arrived. it was hot. in the peak of summer. sophia twittered nervously. john looked at her and held her hands in his. "ill be here waiting for you ok. i promise. you need to do this" he encouraged. sophia called the prisons co worker she had been in contact with the past few weeks to let her now she had arrived. she sat, rolling a cigerette waiting for the lady. not long after she finished it, she saw a lady quickly walk across the car park to her. her excietment radiating off her. friendly smile and she gushed as she reach sophia. "you look just like her, oh my gosh everyone is so excited to meet you! lets go lets go, wont be long now!" sophia just half smiled and nodded strolling behind the excited lady. as they reached the prison, the two gaurds, in a very similar sttae of excitement welcomed sophia, not even bothering to security check her. sophia raised her eyebrows. what the fuck is going on she thought over and over. the two gaurds kept rambling on about how excited they was to meet the famous dana webbs daughter. sophia was confused, almost mad. its supposed to be a queit event, in and out, just closure but her she stood for another fifteen mins being gushed over three strangers. finally moving on the lady showed her the way to the contact room. proudly showing her where she could purchase some treats at the little coffee stand. sophia simply got some water and sat down at one of the tables. the summer sun shone through the glass, which was covered with bars. however the room itself was large and bright, she could see other people with inmates at other tables in the large room. sophia weirdly managed to feel ok, no sweating or panicking. even she thought it was strange but then again she was about to meet her abusive maker. nothing about this felt real. as she was waiting sophia found herself going over her birth mothers reason as to why she was in prison.
peter wilson, ex raf man, stabbed to death in his home. peter was a drinking buddy of danas, they got into a fight nd in cold blood she murdered him and left the scene. he wasnt found until two days later by his worried girlfriend. through the trial, which started on my birthday funnily enough, dana remained cold and callous. showing no empathy or regret. a real physcopath.sophia heard a gasp, her head snapped up. a blonde slim woman was walking towards her beaming from ear to ear. sophia didnt evennstand or move a facial muscle. she just simply looked. age wore on the womans face, her hair was long and blonde. tons of faded little tattoos covered her. she wore normal civillian clothes and a little nit of mascara. sophia assumed she was quite the manipulator from this. i mean, she didnt see another prisoner in civilian clothes. odd. the gaurd escorting dana was also beaming from ear to ear. "we got her all dolled up for you sophia, everyones so excited to meet you!" sophias lips twitched but again didnt say anything. dana sat down opposite her and drank up her daughters appearance.
"wow you look just like me" she said happily. "your so beautiful!"
sophia nodded. "thanks"
dana unwavered by her daughters lack of words continued to talk. about her time in prison, how well she was doing, all her activities. sophia remained like stone letting danas word slip right by her, she knew she was trying to soften her up, try to manipulate. she was acting like she was a wonderful normal mother. sophia sighed and caused dana tos top.
"why did you hurt us, starve us, beat us?" dana blinked. "im sorry, i was young and didnt know any different" sophia scoffed. "ok, why did you murder a man" dana smiled "an accident. ive repented. im working hard on that" sophia blinked. she felt nothing. she had at least expected to cry. weird. the gaurds ushered sophia and dana to a white wall. they wanted a photograph. sophia kept her arms down, making it clear she didnt want dana to touch her. a few photos was taken. sophia was ready to leave. the co worker saddened trying to protest but sophia quickly made her exit, barley an hour, she rolled and smoked her cigerette in record breaking time. she walked to the car, john was snoozing hiding in the cool air of the car from the hot sun. sophia tapped the window with a smile. "lets go" she cheerfully said but the cheer not reaching her yes. johns confusion was evident as he started the car. "what happened" he siad.
"oh.. shes a nobody. just a lost physcopath. never need to see her again, thats my closure. she feels nothing for all the horrible things shes done. so thats that"they drove back in a comftable silence. sophia felt glad. closure.

The therapist looked at sophia. she wondered if she was being so short on the account of meeting dana, but as she looked at the girl, she realised because it truly meant nothing to her, nothing at all. true closure. the therapist was sure there was more to the event but realised it wasnt important. so she didnt press her anymore for it.
