*y/n pov*

Obanai and I have been dating for almost a year now. I know. Shocker. I'm surprised he can even TOLERATE me. Anyways, there's only one problem. He won't take off his bandages from around his mouth. Meaning, well, we haven't even KISSED yet. But I know his past (sorta) and so I know he's sensitive about the topic... which is why I haven't brought it up. Until now, that is.

"Hey, Obanai, I have to ask you something..." I say as I walk into our shared bedroom. He turns his head towards me and, I think, smiles. His snake, Kaburamaru also turns to look at me.

"Yeah? Go ahead," he says, signaling me to continue.

"I know this is a sensitive subject for you, but I was wondering why you haven't taken your bandages off around me. You even sleep in them, and it kinda hurts to think you aren't comfortable around me ." I say and sit next to him.

He wraps his arms around me and pulls me into a hug, resting his face on the top of it. He pulls me to sit on his lap, facing him. I hear, and feel, him let out a deep sigh and re-adjust his face.

"I've told you about my past, correct? Well, there is something I didn't mention. Cause I knew if I told you, you'd leave me. Which is also the reason I haven't removed them yet." He says, removing a hand from my back. I pull back, looking at him. He was brushing his finger tips over his cheek through the bandages. "As you know, my family was..  abusive. They locked me in a cell and they worshipped a snakelike demon. All this I told you. But what I didn't tell you was that they had cut the corners of my mouth, all the way to my jaw. It left scars and, due to the memories I get when I look at them, I cover them. And I know you'll leave me if I show you, so I've kept them hidden from you. I'm sorry." He says as I see tears brimming his eyes. My eyesight blurs just seeing him like that. And the story made it worse. I hug him as I feel tears hitting my shoulder.

"I would never leave you. I love you too much." I say as I pull away and cup his face in my hands. "Do you... do you mind if I remove the bandages?" I ask, my fingers brush the gauzy material. He nods his head, signaling that it was ok. He closes his eyes as if hes afraid to see my reaction. I kiss his forehead, then his eyelids. "Don't worry,"I say reassuringly.

I find the ending of the bandages and begin unraveling it slowly, as to soothe him I guess. After a little while, i finally finish and see the scars. I see him tighten his eyes and tense up as I trace over them. I kiss along the scars on both sides, then finally place a kiss on his lips.

"You wanna know something? I think these scars make you who you are. And honestly, even though you went through all that trauma and shit as a kid, I believe that it's what built you as who you are. And that's the you I love. I know all that shit sucks and I know what I said is pretty cheesey, but I love you top much for you to believe this," I point to his scars and his hetero chromatic eyes, knowing that he can barely see out of his right eye, "will ever make me think any less of you. Cause it will not. I like this version of you and wouldn't want to trade it for the world." I say as I pull him into a comforting hug, kissing his temple.

"God I love you so much," I hear him say as his voice breaks and I hear him crying. "Thank you," he whispers.

"I love you too, and you're welcome, my love. Now, let's go to bed." I say and pull him to lay down, laying his head on my chest. Not very long later, I hear quiet snores coming from him and smile. "I love you," i mumble as I fade off into unconsciousness.

I hope this is even a bit like you wanted. Honestly, I did tear up a tad bit while writing this. His backstory hurts me so bad. Anyways, i hope y'all enjoyed and if y'all have anymore requests, dont be afraid to let me know.
