Mai strode into the throne room with purpose, all the guards having run off towards the gates. Saveria blew the doors to the throne room open, clearly not expecting any resistance. She hesitated at the sight of the younger witch, then grinned.

"My, my, I hadn't expected to find you here." She was alone, thankfully; Mai wouldn't have stood much of a chance if the bowman had been around. "Take great care, young one. You may find this more than you can bear."

"I will not allow you to ruin this kingdom again." Mai let her hood fall back, revealing her now glowing silver eyes. Saveria looked frightened, if only for a moment, before her sneer was back.

"That's not possible...Lilianna was killed when she drove me out. You are not her." Saveria's voice shook just a bit, and it was Mai's turn to grin. She untied her cloak, allowing it to fall to a heap on the floor, and took a step forward. She pulled her gloves off and flung them away.

"No, I'm not. I'm her daughter." Mai flung the silver energy at the witch with a primal yell, and the battle begun. Saveria dodged out of the way, and threw her own ball of energy. Mai deflected it, and began to circle slowly.

"Lilianna was a fool, to side with the royals. They care nothing for our kind." Saveria hissed, twirling her own dark magic with her hand. Mai stayed quiet, knowing better than to rise to the challenge. Saveria materialized a dagger, leaping towards her. Mai ducked to one side, throwing a silver-lined punch at the knife and shattering the blade to pieces. "Your mother made a mistake letting me live!" Mai threw another punch, landing it on Saveria's jaw and knocking her to the ground. Mai took a deep breath to summon every ounce of energy she had. With a wave of her hands, she lifted Saveria from the ground in a cloud of silver, binding her with tendrils of the shining magic.

"A mistake I do not intend to repeat." Mai twisted her hands, effectively ripping the witch apart. A fine dust fell to the floor; the last remains of the older witch. Mai's head swam as she collapsed to her knees, and she could barely feel when she hit the floor. Destroying Saveria had taken more energy than Mai had anticipated, and now it would likely mean the end of her. As she faded into unconsciousness, a set of vibrant blue eyes looked with worry into her own.
