And then the man sitting on top of her was gone like the wind would have pushed him away from her.

Then she heard a sound unlike anything she had ever heard before.

An animal growling.

Evie sobbed as she moved her head towards the direction of the sound and froze.

There was an animal in her room.

And by animal she didn't mean a fluffy cute bunny but a large creature that reminded her of a wolf.

She had never seen one before and Evie wasn't sure that it wasn't just her eyes playing tricks on her.

Her heart kept beating fast as she watched the beast sink its teeth onto the man's shoulder. The scream of agony made chills ran down her back.

Evie slowly stood up from the groud feeling something warm sliding down her neck and shoulder.

Her mouth opened as she watched the beast shred its victim to parts. The old stains of blood on the floor would be joined by even larger stains.

A part of her wanted to run screaming begging for help. To run to the old man downstairs and beg him to help her to kill the beast.

No such evil should be allowed to live.

Its skin should be taken and shown to the others for them to know that it had truly been killed.

But another part of her wanted to stay. It wanted Evie to stay and watch what the beast was capable of. And something in the dark furred creature called her in.

Evie wasn't sure what it was.

She should have been running to the hills screaming from fear. And she was afraid. She had never in her life had been more afraid than in the last couple of minutes. Nothing that she had ever experienced could be compared to this.

Her sight was still poor from the tears and her head hurt. The blood coming from her shoulder and neck had covered parts of her dress.

It was ruined.

There was something magical about the beast. Something in it kept her captivated.

And it scared her.

Evie's hands started to shake as anothet sob left her mouth. She needed to leave before she became the beast's next snack.

She didn't turn to face the door and walked slowly backwards towards the doorway and the broken door on the floor.

She took small steps trying to stay as quiet and calm as the situation allowed. Only few steps were left when the floorboard under her feet made a quiet creak.

Evie's heart stopped and all the color left her face when the beast froze and turned to stare straight into her eyes.

The books she had read had always told to never stare into the eyes of a predator. The animal would detect it as a threath.

Evie let out a scream before heading towards the stairs. She needed to get out. This wasn't the life she had imagined for herself. She had known that the world was a dangerous place. She had known that not everything would go well.

However, she hadn't known that a man would try to kill her before getting eaten by a big bad wolf and that she would be the next little piggy.

She didn't want to be a piggy.

Evie reached the stairs in a panic trying to go down the stairs without falling down and breaking her neck. Perhaps it would be a better way to leave this world than being eaten by a wolf.
