Chapter 2
Day42, 538
Last night I spent the entire time at Billy's conversing and laughing with Blake. I found out Blake is an only child. She lives with her father in a house, just the two of them. Blake's favorite flower is something called a Melantha. Also, she was with her friends celebrating. When I questioned her on what she was celebrating she seemed to manage to avert the question. While talking about herself Blake's jaw tightened just a bit and her emerald eye's darkened just enough for me to notice. I never questioned her about it; I figured it was too soon to be asking any more personal questions.
I walked home last night with the moon leading my way. The dark welcomed me like a warm blanket. I smiled more walking home last night than I have in the past 50 years. I made sure before leaving Billy's to exchange numbers. I went to sleep with a smile on my face and an angel on my mind. Her smile, her laugh, her voice all replayed in my mind over and over again; slowly taking over my dreams.
When I woke up the next morning I couldn't wait to encounter her again. I grabbed my phone, suddenly realizing what I was doing. Immortals do not associate with humans voluntarily. There is a strict unwritten rule that we stay away from each other. Just as I was placing my phone in its designated spot on my counter, it vibrated. BLAKE shone bright on my screen. Before I could comprehend what I was doing her voice was filling my ears.
"Hello?" She asked in a weak voice
"Hi Blake, I wasn't expecting you to call. It's Damen" I reassured her
"Hi Damen, Well a couple of us are going out to the movies today. I was wondering if you wanted to come with us."
"I would love to. What time and where?" After finding out all the details I said goodbye and hung up. I glanced at my clock and saw I had two hours until I had to leave for the restaurant we were meeting at. I dug through my closest in my bedroom searching for the one thing that would take the nerves off me, my running shoes. After 5 minutes I found them in the back hidden under some shopping bags I forgot to throw away. I quickly threw them on and ran out my apartment.
****************
I first started running when I was 27 years, 9,855 Days old. It was the first time I realized that being immortal had several set backs, I came across several men and women running and decided I would try it. I fell in love with running within the first mile. It was like everything was lifted off my shoulders by this little action. Running was the one thing that made me feel like I was normal. I have run ever since. Over the 27 years I have been running I have ran a total of 44,388 miles or 1,644 miles a year.
I came back to my apartment after running for 42 minutes or 6 miles. I ran up the stairs to my third floor apartment. I quickly jumped in the shower and changed to presentable clothing. I wore a black v-neck t-shirt and dark jeans. I walked down the stairs and into the garage that held my black Mercedes. I jumped in my car and blasted the radio, killing my thoughts before I had a chance to think them. After another half hour I pulled up to a small family owned diner.
A/N Here's chapter two not as long as I was hopping. Sorry for that. I just wanted to get it out for you guys to read. Chapter 3 will be the movie and restaurant, and perhaps something else. You'll just have to wait and see(: Don't forget to comment and tell me what you think about it. -Katti
