Chapter 3

Day 42,538.5

The diner was small with a pathway lined with white and pink tulips. In front of the main windows was a swing for couples to sit on.  The building looked like it was a remodel of something from the 70's. Once inside I spotted Blake a couple yards away with the group of friends at Billy's. I slowly walked up feeling out of place, waiting for Blake to notice I was there.

The two men at the table with Blake looked like they could be related. They both had dark brown hair, an inch or two shorter than me, and possessed the same smile. Although, the one on the right had light blue eyes, while the one on the left had dull brown eyes.

The woman had little to none of the same qualities. The women conversing with Blake was about 5'2", brown hair, and blue eyes. Her hair was an inch or two below her shoulders. While the other woman had bright blond hair, thin high eyebrows, dark brown eyes, and was about 5'7". Needless to say Blake was the most beautiful person there.

As I walked closer to her table Blake spotted me and waved me over. She looked beautiful in a white floral shirt and dark jeans; both of which accented her curves. Her hair was down her back in waves. She was saving a seat next to her, which I graciously took.

"I hope you don't mind but I ordered you a root beer, since you weren't here yet." Blake worriedly explained the soda in front of me. Little did she know how honored I was that she remember what I drank.

"Oh yeah no problem at all." I tried to play off

"This is James" Pointing to the man with light blue eye, “and Derek, Stephine" Blake said pointing to the dark haired woman, leaving the blond to be, “and Mabel."

"Hello, my name is Damen" I stated introducing myself.

I sat down in my seat and joined in on their conversation. They were debating who the better author was: John Green or Edgar Allen Poe. I immediately took the guys side, picking Poe. We finally ended up deciding that Poe was the best author in his time and Green Is the best in the present time.

We ordered a large Cheese pizza and split it between the six of us. Stephine and Mabel had one piece each, while Blake ate two. The Three of us left ate the rest; we actually had to fight over the last piece. Derek fought to win and that is just what he did. After we ate we headed to the movie theater less than a block away: Blake persuaded us to walk there.

"So where are you going to school at this spring?" James asked out of curiosity.

"This spring will be a senior at the private High school here." I answered him, making sure not to give away to much information that would make him question me further.

"Oh are you going to Mercy Cross?” Stephine excitedly yelled to me.

"Yeah, I am. Do you go there?" I secretly hoped they did so I would be able to see Blake more often.

"Yes we do. So you will know us and you can hang with us. Isn't this great Blake?" Stephine turned to her friend waiting for a response.

Blake's eyes shone with excitement. "Yes that is great news!" Her eyes told me she meant every word of it too.

We entered the movie theater and bought our tickets; we were going to see some movie I have never heard of before. The movie was full and action and romance. I am not much of a movie watcher myself so I decided to watch Blake. She didn't take her eyes off the movie even when Stephine was talking to her. She turned out to be very jumpy; she jumped at all the little things. I was sitting next to Blake so she turned to me whenever she thought something scary was going to happen. I couldn't help but think how wrong it was for me to be thinking all these thoughts about Blake. I decided to ignore those thoughts and enjoy the time spent with her now because who knows what will happen in the future.

Once the movie ended we all walked to our cars going our separate ways. Everyone except me, I walked Blake to her car first. Blake’s car was a 2012 blue ford fusion, something she later told me she had saved up her money to buy herself.

"Thank you for inviting me to go tonight I had a lot of fun."

"Thank you for coming Damen. Your welcome to come anytime, you are part of us now, and you better know how lucky you are. There aren't a lot of people we let into our group" Blake half jokingly told me

"I do, trust me" I put more meaning into those few words than she would ever understand.

We said our good nights and departed for our different homes.

A/N  So I felt bad about the last chapter being so short so I decided to make this one a tad bit longer. I hope you liked it, and don't forget to tell me what you think so far about DTL.  -Katti
