I ran for about 5 miles...

Then I finally lost my adrenaline and crashed, panting, bending over hands on my knees.

When I finally got my breathing under control, I looked around and spotted a Starbucks. Thank god. I slumped over and walked into the place, checking to see if I had my wallet.

When I found it, I walked up to the counter, and looked at the menu. Eh, I'll just get my usual.

I looked into the hazel eyes of the barista, and mumbled, "May I have a Carmel Latte please?"

The red-haired, white girl looked at me, "Girl if you gonna want anything, you gotta speak up." I burst into a fit of giggles.

"You... sassy... girl..." She just looked at me with a serious look, until she joined me.

When we finally calmed down, "I know I called you girl, I call everyone else that too. So what is it you want again?"

"Carmel Latte."

She nodded, tapping the order into the machine. I went and sat down til I heard, "Hey, girl!!!"

I laughed, remembering I never told her .y name. I walked up to the counter grabbing my drink.

I turned it around and saw 'Kayla 867-5309'. I laughed, "I'm gay!"

I looked back at her and she said, "Yeah, I know." She burst out laughing, and continued, "So... why are you here at 12 AM?"
She hopped onto the counter, and I replied, "Relationship problems..." I went and sat on a table across from her.

"Thought so. So, you know my name, what about you tell me yours?" She exclaimed sassy. I giggled, "Grassi, Mitch Grassi."

"Oh, I've heard of you. But, nothing I've heard is true, at least I don't believe it." I laughed, of course she's heard about me.

"Why not?"

"I believe them?" I nodded. "Well, I learned the hard way not everyone is who everyone thinks they are." She paused for a moment before looking back at me.

"Good, because I think we'll be good friends." She gave me a bright smile.

"Good."

The door to the shop opened up, and revealed someone I wasn't really prepared to see yet. Scott, of course.

Kayla walks up to me, and whispers in my ear, "That's him isn't it." I nodded.

Kayla walked up to Scott, and asked, "What do you want? " He looked at hey shocked.

"I-I wanted to talk to Mitch."

"And, what if he doesn't want to talk to you?"

Scott and I both had a stunned look on our faces. Kayla looked at both of us.

"What? It's true, sometimes, when you male someone heartbroken, you should maybe wait till they want to talk to you. Not the other way around."

She wasn't wrong. "Scott, I'll be home soon, ok??? I just want some time to think."

Scott gave me a sad look, but hesitantly left.

"Look, girl, sit and drink your Latte, if you need to talk I'm always here, and now you have my number. I know Scott, just so you know, I know how he is, or isn't I should say... give me a call anytime."

"Thanks."

I finished my drink, and left, with a little hope, even if Scott didn't work out, at least I had someone to lean on.
