Diego's POV

I put the guitar back on the bed and laid down,my fingertips calloused due to the practice. My mother had always wanted me to be a musician,I was afraid to let her down because even though I was interested,I didn't want to be one.

The knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts and Sia entered in with a grin on her face.

"Bro! Can you believe I topped my class?"
I rolled my eyes playfully at her,"again?"
She smirked and nodded."It's funny to see everyone's reaction in the class you know. Anyways, mom's asking if you had any plans today?"

I raised my eyebrow in question.
"You know, maybeeeee a date or something?" Her smirk only grew.

"Jesus child, get back your ass downstairs right now!" Before I could reply,my mother did. She stood at the entrance, her face serious and her hands on her hips.
Sia giggled and ran outside as I shook my head.

"Hey Diego" my mom's eyes softened when she saw my face and it made me smile a little. "You know she's only joking right?"
I nodded.

"Good,now come downstairs for dinner."
As soon as she left,I got up and locked my door, then laid back on the bed,my head resting on my arms.

Sia had been making these remarks alot lately but I couldn't blame her either. My ex was her best friend.
I never enjoyed dating but had tried twice, not to mention failed both for the same exact reasons.

I wondered if people knew how pissed they made me when they asked me why I covered my face all the time. It was nice to have friends who wouldn't ask these questions everyday, except for Ryan ofcourse, that dumbass was a champion when it meant to get on people's nerves.

It was hard to cover my face all the time but now I was used to it,infact it felt like it was a part of me and I wondered if I could relate to all those Muslim women who said that there scarf was a part of them too.

I was also used to the looks that I'd get in the university,by now. Atleast I knew they were better at hiding their expressions while my face  was covered rather than when I'd exposed myself. I had been so attached to it that it felt weird to take it off when I'd get back home. But the problem was my mother,I always had to take it off before she could see it or else I'd only be a member of her countless lectures.

My mother was the soft.only.when.necessary kind. Sia and I were under her constant stares all the time, even when after I was 18+.

My dad worked at a company in Brazil and he hardly came home so usually it was just the two of them home or me,if I bothered to come home.

The best thing about my mother was that she trusted me,she never asked questions and that made me extremely thankful.

I sighed and picked up my phone when I heard the notifications. These idiots.

Group name: shut your mmmouth,Ryan

Vi: guys? Is Azar hanging out with any of you?😭

Weirdo: I'd die if I was the only one hanging out with him,old man would kill me in like 5 seconds.

Ro: Siri! We DO NOT talk like that. Where's the group momma to lecture you?

Weirdo: exactly! Thankyou princess. Also the momma is busy crying over the old man, who's apparently not old enough to dodge the curfew.
