chapter 2
there's a hunger in the restless air
I squint my eyes shut as the sun beams through my curtains, disrupting the first good night's sleep I've had in months. Being with people again, specifically Stiles, made me feel like a human; despite being the complete opposite.
I reluctantly roll out of bed and shuffle my tired feet over to my desk where a mini fridge filled with hospital blood bags sits. I let out a long yawn as I grab a blood bag from the fridge and pop off the top, sipping it like it's koolaide.
I stare blankly at the wall as I finish it, still being partially asleep. My mom has been very helpful throughout the whole transition. She's the reason I have the blood in the first place.
Once I finish my breakfast, I toss the plastic bag into the trash and make my way over to my closet to pick out an outfit for school.

"You look pretty today." Stiles says as he opens the passenger's side door for me. I hop into the seat and look down at him, furrowing my brows in fake hurt.
"I don't look pretty every day?" I ask in an annoyingly whiny voice. He rolls his eyes and shuts the door, walking around to the driver's seat.
"You know what I meant." He responds as he gets into his seat.
"And you know that I was joking." I reply, fastening my seat belt.
Once we're both situated, Stiles places a hand on my thigh as he pulls out of my driveway. It's in that moment that I realize I've barely felt the touch of another human all summer, much less Stiles'.
But something about this is different. It's like that one hand on my thigh is touching me everywhere. I stiffen in my seat and clench my legs together as I try to ignore the growing heat down there.
"You okay?" Stiles asks, squeezing my thigh once, completely oblivious to what he's doing.
"Yeah, it's just..." I trail off, not sure how to tell him that just a simple gesture is turning me on more than anything ever has.
"What is it?" Now, his thumb is moving in what he thinks are comforting circles on my inner thigh.
I lean my head back on the head rest and shut my eyes, trying to gain my composure.
"As a vampire, everything is heightened. Smell, hearing, speed...touch." I look over at him as I speak the last word, waiting to see his reaction.
I feel my core tighten as a sly smirk appears on his face and he glances down to where his hand rests on my thigh before looking back to the road.
"So, what does this feel like?" He questions as he slowly runs his hand up my thigh until it's right next to my heat. I swallow a giant lump in my throat as I squint my eyes shut again, attempting to control myself.
"Like you're touching every part of my body." I answer truthfully. He looks at me quickly before turning back and removing his hand while making the turn into the school parking lot.
"We could be late, you know...if you wanted to-"
"Stiles, our first time is not going to be in the backseat of your jeep in the school parking lot. Not happening. It needs to be...special." I tell him as I unbuckle my seat belt and grab my bag from the floorboard.
"Yeah..." He says as if he's lost in thought. I shrug it off and exit the car once we're parked.
-
"You wanna ask Derek for help? Why, why?" Stiles asks Scott as we walk down the hallway.
