Frozen Love (Arlecchino X Lumine)

Lumine looked through the house the next morning. She opened up one of the cabinets and looked for some food. Containers of preserved vegetables were saved in the cabinets, stacked on top of each other. She grabbed some of the containers and started making herself some food. She still had Arlecchino's coat. She decided to continue wearing it since it was warm.

Lumine could hear something messing with the doorknob. She quickly turned around and summoned her weapon. She slowly walked into the main room of the house, holding her weapon forward.

The door slowly opened, Arlecchino walked in and closed the door behind her. She turned to Lumine and held up her hands.

"Good morning to you too," she said smiling with a slight glare.

"Sorry.. you scared me-" Lumine said as she lowered her weapon. Arlecchino walked up to Lumine and handed her a bag. Lumine carefully took the bag and looked up at Arlecchinos dark eyes, the X's glowing slightly.

"I thought I should bring you something to eat, since the vegetables and fruit here is not the greatest," she said interrupting Lumine looking at her eyes.

Lumine realised she had been staring and looked down at the bag. "Oh, thank you. I was actually just about to eat something." She opened up the bag, revealing some well made sandwiches. "These look awesome! Thank you!" Lumine said with a smile.

Arlecchino looked at her in shock. "Really..?"

Lumine looked up at her confused. "Yea, they look tasty!"

Arlecchino couldn't believe someone said her cooking looked good. "O-oh, thank you.." she looked down at her coat, realising Lumine was still wearing it. "Also, you can keep my coat for now if you'd like."

Lumine sat down on a dusty chair, looking up at Arlecchino as she took out a sandwich. "Oh, no you can take it back, I don't want you to get cold."

"I've been in Snezhnaya much longer than you have, I'm used to the cold here." She said as she walked over to the fireplace, throwing some wood into it and lighting it on fire.

Lumine grabbed one of the sandwiches and held it out of Arlecchinos back. "Here," she said waiting for her to turn around.

Arlecchino turned around, looking at the sandwich. She shook her head, "No, those are for you. I've already eaten anyways."

"Oh, ok," Lumine said happily as she took a bite out of the sandwich. "And I'll give you back your coat as soon as I find myself one."

Arlecchino nods and walked over to the front door. "Well, I need to go do something, if you leave this house, just be careful."

Lumine nods as Arlecchino walks out the door, not saying another word. Lumine snuggles down into the oversized coat, keeping warm as she eats the sandwich. She looks up at the ceiling, thinking.

"Why exactly is she helping me-" she says out loud. "Hm." She continues to eat the sandwich as she thinks.

A week or so later

Arlecchino always stopped by the house every day, making sure Lumine was ok. She sometimes would bring food she made herself, or she would bring food fresh vegetables or fruit. Lumine always felt her heart slightly race whenever she visited, but she never payed much attention to it. They had gotten close over the week or so they saw each other.

Lumine was waiting for Arlecchino one day, knowing the general time when she would show up. She seemed to be waiting a little longer than usual, but she didn't may much mind to it.

Suddenly, a loud bang could be heard at the door. The door slammed open, Fatui suddenly entered the house, aiming their weapons at Lumine. Lumine stumbled back, summoning her weapon. She stood her ground, holding her weapon up prepared to attack anyone that got close.

"Your coming with us, Traveler," one of the Fatui soldiers said, looking down at Lumine who was cornered. Lumine pointed her weapon at the soldier as it started to walk towards her. The soldier swung a small dagger at Lumine, slicing her shoulder. Lumine cried out in pain and blood soaked into the coat and clothing.

A loud slam was heard as one of the soldiers fell to the ground unconscious. The back of a weapon swung at the soldier threatening Lumine, knocking him into the wall. Arlecchino could be seen standing above the soldier. She held the edge of her sword up to the soldiers neck. The soldier backed up against the wall in fear.

"Knave! I'm sorry!" the soldier franticly said, hiding its face. "I'm sorry!"

"Leave before I decide to kill you." Arlecchino said coldly, poking the soldiers chest with the end of her sword.

The soldier backed away and quickly left the house, leaving his weapon and other soldiers behind.

Arlecchino lowered her weapon angrily, looking at the other solider unconscious in the room. Lumine held onto her shoulder, which was still bleeding. Arlecchino looked over at her, realising she was bleeding. She quickly made her weapon disappear as she made her way over to Lumine.

"Are you ok?" She said concerned. She carefully held out her hand but retracted it.

Lumine lifted her hand covering her shoulder. It was soaked in blood.

"Let's go, more soldiers will show up soon, and you need to be patched up." Her voice sounded more concerned as she walked towards the door.

Lumine nodded as she walked to the front door. She slightly stumbled as she walked towards Arlecchino. She was losing a lot more blood than she realised. Lumine tripped and fell forward. Arlecchino quickly lunged forward to catch her, holding her in her arms.

"Shit.." she said realising Lumine was losing a lot of blood. She picked up Lumine and held her with one arm behind her back and one under her legs. She quickly walked out of the house and ran down a path.

Lumines vision was getting blurry as she was starting to lose consciousness. She saw the trees going by quickly while Arlecchino ran. The cold cutting through her wound, making it sting more.

"We're almost there, hold on," Arlecchino said worriedly, realising Lumine was struggling to stay conscious.

Lumine closed her eyes, loosing consciousness as she saw a building Arlecchino was running towards.
