Although it was something she would never have considered just a few days ago, Hornet felt wonderful having done it. She felt a mixture of gratitude, pride, and clarity at the newfound change in herself, and she knew she was well on the way towards self improvement. She even felt mercy on herself for being the way she was. After all, the years of solitude after the plague were bound to harden her a little. But she sensed a new dawn in the kingdom, so perhaps it was time for a new dawn in herself.

She'd resolved her conflict with one visitor, and it was easier than she had expected. Now that the detour was over, it was time to resolve the other conflict. Unfortunately, she had started both, but that was all the more encouragement to fix them. And if this was indeed the start of a new kingdom's dawn, she wanted to be friends with its pioneers.

Descending deeper into the Fungal Wastes, Hornet had to slay a few hostile crawlers along the way. Luckily, her years of killing these daily made it effortless. Yet more reason not to beat herself up about losing to Quirrel and the ghost- she hadn't fought anyone sentient in years anyway. Not to mention she did perform incredibly well in both fights, nothing to be ashamed of at all. In hindsight, she felt much better about herself. And the last thing left to fix was her conflict with the ghost. Hopefully he would be as understanding as Quirrel.

There it is again... "he..."

Her hike took her to the Mantis Village at the bottom of the Fungal Wastes. This was yet another of the few towns left in the kingdom. It was inhabited by the mantis race, which once submitted to the rule of Hallownest. They were warriors, yet they respected peacekeepers and were not senselessly violent. They held tremendous respect towards other warriors, even non-mantises. In her few interactions with them in the past, they had been very friendly towards her. She was a dignified warrior, after all. Thus, she rather looked forward to the visit. But what would they do to the ghost? And more importantly, what would he do to them?

Entering the mantis village felt like meeting an old friend. It was the same as before; huts and tents with fancy weapons prominently displayed, intimidating any foe. Mantises prowled around, tending to fires, eating, and sharpening weapons. A few mantises took notice of Hornet and waved. She was glad they remembered her. She respectfully walked through the village without making a scene. Deeper and deeper into the village she went, bringing her closer to the Mantis Lord thrones. The Mantis Lords were three warrior sisters that led the tribe. Entering their room was reserved for serious matters, and she hoped she wouldn't have to go in there.

As Hornet continued her stride throughout the camp taking her closer and closer to where she knew the thrones resided, she saw a bench. And sitting on the bench was the ghost.
