The door swung open as Stefan and Leo climbed up to the porch. Elena appeared to have been smacked. "Oh," she muttered, glancing at Stefan and Leo. "Sorry, I was about to knock. I wanted to apologize for my disappearing act earlier. I know it was...strange." Stefan said gaining back her focus, Leo looked over at Stefan with a puzzled look 'what act?'. "No worries. I get it, blood makes you squeamish." she spoke while looking at Stefan with a small smile, Leo was completely lost and asked "Sorry to interrupt but um what happened?" He questioned in the softest voice he could manage. Elena then turned to face him. " Oh I just hurt my leg is all'' she said with a beautiful smile. It was now Stefan's chance to speak out. "Um, something like that. By the way, how's your leg?" Once he stated that, he cast a glance towards Leo, who appeared to be lost. "Oh, it's fine. Just a scrape, barely. How did you know where I lived?" It was now Leo's turn to glance at Stefan. "How did you know, Stef?" He asked, a little puzzled, surely Stefan wasn't stalking her. He could, but he wouldn't because he's not a creep like that, or at least Leo didn't believe he was.
Stefan cast a glance at Leo before returning his gaze to the girl, who shared Leo's confused expression. "It's a small town. I asked the first person I saw. Um, I thought you might want this back." He returned a medium-sized green book to her. She scanned the book before taking it. "Oh, I must have dropped it. ""Thank you."' I didn't...read it, don't worry." With a smile of his own. "No? Why not? Most people would have." Leo stood awkwardly at Stefan's right, swaying back and forth, waiting for this conversion to end. "Well, I wouldn't want anyone to read mine." "You keep a journal?" "Yeah, if I don't write it down, I forget it. Memories are too important." "Yeah. I'm just gonna...umm, you don't have to stay out there." 'How long will this take simply say thank you' and we can go home' Leo thought to himself. It sounded too wonderful to be true, lying down in bed and reading the notebook for the millionth time.
Leo broke out of his thoughts as Stefan tried to step in the house but he couldn't, "I'm fine. Sorry, were you going somewhere?" 'Please say yes so that we can leave.' Leo begged "Yeah, I'm meeting a friend. "Do you guys want to come?" "Sure," Stefan answered without even asking Leo whether he wanted to go home. "Asshole," Leo whispered enough for Stefan to glance at him.
As Leo, Stefan and Elena walked in, a guy looked over at them "More time, huh?" he asked the dark skinned girl. Said guy made his way over to them "Hey i'm Matt, nice to meet you" "Hi. Stefan" "Hi I'm Leo, lovely to meet you," Leo said as he smiled at Matt. Elena and Matt looked at each other one with a sad smile and the other with a stone face "hey" she said "hey" Matt said as a blond girl looked at Stefan and Leo "So, you were born in Mystic Falls?" the blond questioned Leo and Stefan. "Mhm, Moved when we was still young," Stefan said, his gaze fixed on Leo. "Parents?" bonnie said "Our parents passed" Leo and Stefan both spoke at the same time "I'm sorry, any siblings?" Elena questioned, "Yeah, but we don't speak anymore due to family issues..." Leo spoke while glancing down at his hands on his lap. "But we live with our uncle," Stefan explained, smiling reassuringly at Leo. "So, Stefan, since you're new, you don't know about the party tomorrow," the blond said, entirely ignoring Leo.
Bonnie smiled as she glanced at Leo. "It's back to school thing at the falls." In all honesty, Bonnie knew what they were, yet something about Leo made her feel sad, like a baby wailing over a broken toy. "Are you going?" "Of course she is," Bonnie said to Stefan.
As Stefan and Leo entered the home, they noticed Zack standing in the doorway. "You guys promised, specifically you Leo," Zack said. Leo looked at Zack with a confused look, "Hey I have been good, god I go on a rampage once and people think i'm a monster" He said opening the fridge. When he shut the fridge Zack and Stefan were looking at him, "OK you know what I didn't do shit I don't even know what you're talking about, maybe stefen did whatever you're trying to accuse me of". With a huff Zack handed Stefan a newspaper 'This was an animal attack '' Leo rolled his eyes starting to get a headache "Dont give me that, I know the game,You tear them up enough, they always suspect an animal attack. You said you and Leo had it under control." "Yes, we do. Leo has been doing great; he is capable of controlling himself." Leo stared at Stefan with a genuine smile on his face. He was being praised for something that he had worked very hard on. "Please, Uncle Stefan. Mystic Falls is a different place now. It's been quiet for years, but there are people who still remember. And you and Leo being here, it's just going to stir things up." "That is not our intention." "Then what is? Why did you come back? Why now, after all this time?" Zack inquired, shifting his gaze between Leo and Stefan. "We don't need to explain ourselves," Stefan stated. "I know that you can't change what you guys are. But you don't belong here anymore." "Where do we belong?" " I can't tell you what to do. But coming back here was a mistake." Zack remarked this before leaving and Stefan walked to his room. "I live with fucking children," Leo said, rolling his eyes.
