Although Remus, Sirius, and James knew the truth and nothing happened yet Regulus was always paranoid going out in public with the three taller boys always made him look around and if they were in his house he always kept his ears open to make sure he was ready to protect himself and the others if Dumbledore showed up. He was so paranoid that sometimes he didn't get sleep at night because of the fear of Dumbledore showing up to kill him or hurt him.
So there he was sitting in his usual chair in his living room facing the blank television screen and all the blinds down. James walked in the front door and that made Regulus flinch so he got up quickly putting his wand into a protective stance. James put up both his heads and said "Whoa there! It's just me!" Regulus lets his wand fall to his side. "I'm sorry Jamie! I thought you were someone else!" Regulus apologized to the other curly-haired boy. "I'm worried about you Regulus! You hardly get any sleep and you always look so scared and paranoid!" James said as he approached the short boy placing his hand on the side of the curly-haired boy's head. Regulus melts in the touch. "I'm sorry..." He said. James pecked his lips and then asked "Do you want to talk about it?" Regulus shook his head. "Not really to be honest." He said and James in response kissed his forehead. "Why don't we take a nap?" He asked the other boy and in response, he nods. James picks up Regulus bridal style causing Regulus to hold onto James tightly and he shouts "You better not drop me!" That made James laugh.
Once in Regulus's room, James threw Regulus onto his bed making Regulus grab a pillow and throw it at the taller boy. James starts to laugh more and grabbed that pillow throwing it at the shorter boy. At some point, a laughing James was on top of a snickering Regulus. Once they calmed down James kissed Regulus. "I've missed this and I've missed you..." James said quietly. "I missed you too Jamie..." With that, Regulus lay in James' arms as Regulus finally got some sleep.
