Rain at the party!↑↑↑

Freshman Year (2 years ago):

Currently, I am standing on Connor Lockard's porch, where inside the biggest party of the year was being held. In my head, I'm debating whether I should stay or if I should ditch my bestfriend, Rain Falls, and act as if I was never here.

To be honest, my mind was sort of pointing at the latter option. I mean it was her fault I was even at this party, I think to myself. And then like on time my mind automatically goes back to our conversation at lunch.

"So, I hear Connor's having his traditional first week of school party tonight." Rain says as she eats some of my Oreos.

"And, I'm suppose to care why? I mean it literally makes no sense, school just started Monday and then he' s like, bam, I'm just going to throw a party four days later." I reply, while snatching the bag out of Rain's hands. I mean how evil can she get? Eating MY Oreos!

In return, I just get a roll of the eyes. "Peyton Anne Andrews! We have to go, I mean if we don't it will totally be social suicide. I mean it's not like we're Popular or anything but still, we are in the middle- class and I decline to get our ranks dropped any lower than that."

"As I said earlier, 'And, I'm supposed to care why?' And did you have to say my full name? Anyway why do we have to go, I don't even know how to do my hair and I barely know how to do my makeup! " I whine.

Okay I know I was being incredibly whiny and all but I couldn't help it, if I didn't want to go to this party why should I have to?

At this, her face perks up. "I can do it for you! It'll be like those make-up and dressup things we did as kids!"

"If I say yes, will you shutup?" I muttered.

"My lips are sealed", Rain replies like she's zipping her lips shut and locking it.

"Fine."

I glance over my shoulder waiting for Rain to show up because, I decline to walk in there all by myself.

I look down at my fingernails and start biting them, a habit I did when I was nervous. I mean this was my first High School party, and it was at the Connor Lockard's house, so saying I was nervous was a huge understatement.

I glance up and see Rain running across the road. Well attempting too atleast. Her heels clacked against the pavement, and I was kind of scared that her leg was going to just snap.

She made it over to me in under a minute. Not even in the least, out of breath, but that didn't suprise me. After all she was a track star, not to mention the fastest out of everyone, even guys.

When she checked her hair and looked over at me, I analyzed her. She was very pretty, in the way that kind of made you jealous. She had dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, a petite but sporty figure, tan skin, and had the natural effect that made her even more gorgeous. Her outfit tonight seemed to enhance that beauty.

She had on a black dress, with white flowers and beige heels. Her straight hair was casually sitting over her shoulders and reached her waist. Compared to her I felt like a rag doll.

I was wearing a blue dress, where it was like a bright purple- blue color, with navy blue sleeves, and to top it all off I wore my black combat boots. My naturally wavy ,brownish- reddish, hair was curled and I had a little eyeliner and mascara on, which contrasted nicely with my blue eyes. All thanks to Rain, of course.

I looked different and it wasn't a bad different either. More like a 'I could get used to this different'.

Rain smiled and grabbed my hand giving it a little squeeze. "Nervous?"

I smiled. And was instantly reminded of why she was my bestfriend. "Yeah, but I'll live."

"Alright. Let's do this!" Rain said in an overly enthusiastic voice, as she reached for the front door.

Before she could grab it though, I yanked her arm back, making her look back at me. "Leave me and I kill you", I said in a extremely sweet voice, then to top it all off I smiled innocently at her.

Rain just looked at me before rolling her eyes. "Oh hardy- har har, stop your killing me, Pey!" Then she unlocked and opened the door.

To say we were shocked, would've been the biggest understatement in the world. My eyes locked with the couples who were dry- humping on the dance floor. I cringed my nose in disgust as I looked away to analyze the place. It was a really nice place, once you got past the reeking smell of alcohol, cigarettes, and sweat. Along with the horny kids.

I glanced over at Rain and looked shocked when I saw her flirting with Connor, I looked even more shocked (if that were possible) when I saw him flirting back. Deciding not to be the third wheel, I threw away my threat that I said to Rain and walked over to the food table.

I wasn't that hungry, but I didn't want to look like a lonely loser so I continued what I was doing until someone tapped my shoulder.

"Hey." The raspy sexy voice said.

"Um. Not interested. Thanks though." I replied not giving him the time of day.

Raspy sexy voice just laughed at my comment. As if it was the funniest thing in the world.

"Are you drunk?" I asked, still not interested in seeing who Raspy Sexy Voice was. Though, if he were drunk, I wouldn't want to stand to close.

"No silly. I'm Asher Brooks." The guy who now had a name replied.

At this, I had to look up and when I did, my eyes confirmed that it was indeed Asher Brooks.

"I'm sorry am I supposed to know who you are?" I asked playing dumb.

"Yeah. The most popular and sexiest guy to ever attend Maxwell High." He retorted in a 'duh' tone.

"Well. Someone's conceited." I replied, as I turned around and looked for Rain.

"Nope. Just honest. Hey, have I met you somewhere before?" He asked.

"Uh no. I don't really try to associate with you and your people." I told him, while still trying to look for Rain.

"My people? Huh."

"Yeah you know the Popular's." I told him making air quotes around the word 'popular'.

"Oh, so what are you then? A nerd?"

"Hell no. I'm just not popular, geez." I snapped, and then I suddenly found Rain sitting on a couch with Connor. I was about to go over there when a group of girls suddenly blocked my way looking furious.

I then recognized them as Asher's fangirls. Oh sh^t.

I turned back around and saw Asher watching me. I gave him a small smile and opened my pouch looking for my phone. When I found it I texted Rain and said 'At the snackbar come asap.'

I looked over to where Rain was and saw her look over here, but then she turned back around to continue her conversation with Connor.

Some friend she is.

When I looked back at Asher he was still staring at me before he scratched the back of his neck.

"Um. It's getting a little loud in here, you wanna go upstairs and talk?" Asher asked kind of nervous.

"Um I don't know. My friend's over there and I don't think she'd like it if I just dissapeared." I suddenly began to get really nervous, but then I stopped the urge to bite my fingernails.

"Nah she looks more interested in my best mate." Asher says with a smirk.

"Uhh. Okay then, I guess we're going upstairs."

His smirk expanded, when he heard this answer.

"Okay this way, milady." He said gesturing to the stairs that led to upstairs.

What an arrogant as^, I bet he didn't even know my name.
