Osoro closed the guidance counselor's door behind him. Budo was already walking away, but he stopped him short by grasping his arm tightly. Budo turned to face him.
"What the fuck was that for?" he questioned harshly.
"Please refrain from cursing on school grounds, Shidesu-Kun," Budo said calmly, releasing his arm from Osoro's grip.
The delinquent narrowed his eyes at him. "Why did you do that? I beat up your former club leader and gave her a sprained knee. I would've thought that you of all people would want to see me expelled."
Budo shrugged his broad shoulders. "Well, maybe I was willing to give you a second chance," he said casually. Osoro widened his eyes.
Budo turned on his heel to leave again, but the confused boy grabbed his arm once more. "How did you know about my mother?"
"Hmm? Oh, so you do have mommy issues?" Budo laughed with relief. "Thank God, I was just saying what sounded convincing at that point."
Osoro glared daggers at him. Budo lifted his hands defensively. "Hey, you should be thanking me, buddy. You only got a two week suspension because of me."
Osoro crossed his arms. "I still don't understand why you did that for me," he mumbled. "How did you even know I was sent to the guidance counselor's?"
"Your gang told me."
"Okay, but I still don't understand why you–" he widened his eyes when he realized. "Taro told you everything, didn't he?" he growled, his hands rolling up into fists.
Budo shook his head. "Nope. You may think that I'm all brawn and no brain, Shidesu-Kun, but I can easily put a puzzle together," he said with a rather arrogant grin on his handsome face.
Osoro disdainfully rolled his eyes at him. What sort of guys does Taro hang out with, he silently asked himself.
"Osoro!" a young, pretty voice shouted from the other end of the hallway.
Both boys turned their heads to see Taro walking up to them. "I heard you got sent to the guidance counselor's," he informed Osoro.
The delinquent clucked his tongue. "Yeah. You can guess who ratted me out."
"Are you expelled?"
Osoro shook his head. "Only suspended for two weeks."
Taro's eyes widened. "Really?!" he gasped in disbelief.
Osoro nodded before glancing at Budo behind him. "I... have Masuta-Kun to thank for that," he mumbled.
"Huh?" Taro said, completely confused now.
"I sort of vouched for him," Budo explained.
Taro stared at him like he just said he was going to build a rocket and fly to the moon by tomorrow. He blinked several times to process if he had heard him correctly.
Budo furrowed his brows. "What?"
Osoro's lips turned into a thin line as he glanced back and forth between the two boys, feeling extremely uncomfortable. He then let out an awkward cough.
"Well, I have to leave, so um... b-bye Taro," he awkwardly waved at him. Before he walked past Budo though, he almost inaudibly muttered to him, "Thanks, Masuta."
Budo didn't have the chance to reply because Osoro was gone faster than one could blink. He also didn't have time to look back at Taro because the boy had him by the ends of his hachimaki and was dragging him into the bathroom.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow!" he whined the whole way.
Taro released his hachimaki and crossed his arms, looking at him suspiciously.
