I shivered, rubbing my arms for friction to try and warm myself up. The night howled and shook the trees around, making the leaves fall to the floor and create a sort of green carpet along the ground. I coughed and felt the outside of my throat, wishing I hadn't yelled for as long as I had, hoping that somebody was going to hear me. My voice had become hoarse, and pretty much useless now.

Sighing, I took another step forward and wrapped the cloak tighter around me. It tried its best to keep out the cold air, but the wind pawed at it and made the ends jump up, which in turn allowed the freezing air to chill my entire body. Bringing my arms up to my face, I blew some warm air into my hands, hoping to unthaw them.

Why did I have to trip and fall into this measly world?

Squeezing my eyes shut, I inched forward. Why was it so cold? Where did the winter weather suddenly come from? The leaves were still green and yet the weather was a ravager. I wished that Purple was here. Maybe he'd be able to tell me why this was happening, and how? I'd even settle on having King nearby. He might know how to get out.

But, as it was, I was alone. Shivering, I exhaled and stepped on a twig. It snapped, making me flinch, and I whirled around. Nothing was behind me. It was just me, my beating heart, and the wind.

"Okay," I said to myself, rubbing my hands together. "How did I do that fire I did earlier? Maybe that will heat me up? Come on, I've done it before, without even trying!" I could still feel the flames from earlier, clawing up my hands and warming me from the inside out so I was one burning weapon. How could I do that again?

I snapped my fingers, but they felt blocky and didn't even make that satisfying snapping noise. So much for that.

When did my fire work? I tried to think back. Well, it flared up when King made fun of me. It also started when Dark was near. What did both of those times have in common? I bit my lip. Well, I was mad both times. Sooo, was it possible to make yourself upset? The wind kicked up, pushing me forward and I stumbled on the bumpy ground, crashing into a tree.

I grabbed onto one of its branches and gripped it tightly, swaying when the wind jumped at me. So, how do you make yourself mad? Do I have to think about things that I hate? Well, King called me a donut-head earlier. I hate that. And he's always been a good-for-nothing prick. The fire that flashed in his eyes when we took away the Earth Block, burning anybody who looked at him.

I shivered again. Something settled in my stomach, but it felt cold and hard, not warm and blazing. Fear. I was afraid.

I took another breath. "Okay, so that didn't work. Ummm . . ."

Something growled and I froze, hardly daring to breathe as I listened to sticks crunching and leaves swishing around. Teeth snapped against each other, and through the dark I could see a few yellow eyes glint.

Without another thought, I bolted.

The wolves behind me erupted into barks and snarls, and my heart rate spiked by ten thousand. When one flashed in front of me, I screamed and backed away, glancing over my shoulders and watching the wolves surround me. Their gray fur looked painted on in the dim light, and their yellow eyes gleamed bright. Their movements were smooth when they turned, and their flat bodies constantly shifted when they moved.

"They're not even 3D," I said out loud, wincing when they snarled louder. "Can they even bite me or do anything?" But when one stepped closer to me, I still backed off. I didn't really want to find out if they could actually hurt me.

Taking a couple of steps behind me, I gasped when I crunched onto something. The ground suddenly fell away from me, and I shrieked, grabbing at the air in front of me to try and stop myself. But there was nothing there, and I fell into the hole.

Squeezing my eyes shut, I waited to feel myself smash into the stone floor below. The cold air rushed past me, like it was excited to see this show. My heart was beating a million miles per hour, and it spiked when I felt something behind my back.

I gasped when I landed on the fluff, and my eyes flew open. I clutched the fluff, sucking in air while sweat dripped down me.

I was alive!

And definitely lost.

With a groan I sat up on the white fluff and looked around the place. I couldn't hear the hiss of creepers, nor the grumble of zombies. Actually, since we came into this world I hadn't seen any mobs except for cows and wolves. But that didn't mean they would never appear.

I shifted and took a deep breath. "I wish I had a sword right now. And a candle." Slowly exhaling, I crawled to the edge of the soft cube of material and slowly stepped off onto the squishy floor. Freezing for a moment, I let out an exhale when nothing happened and slowly ventured deeper.

The little light from the hole above didn't spread very far, and I couldn't tell if the room was large or short. No noise except for the howling wind above and my own breathing could be heard.

Inching forward, I strained my eyes to see in the dark. The room felt still, like nothing had been inside for eons, and the air smelled of a sharp water and stone.

"Where . . . am I?" I asked out loud, walking on the squishy floor. I reached out an arm in front of me and felt the cool touch of a wall. Running my hand along it, I wondered where this would end. Was it a circular wall with no ways to get out?

My hand moved over a bump in the wall and I heard a faint clicking noise. Frowning, I drew back my arm and blinked against the sudden light. "Agh!" I rubbed my eyes. "I guess that's one way to blind myself." With watery eyes, I squinted.

Candles lined the four walls of the room, and a couple of fires blazed in the center, around the block of white fluff I fell onto. I immediately rushed over to the burning flames and sighed in content with a slight shiver as my skin warmed up.

In the far left corner of the room something blue flashed at me. Frowning, I wiped my eye again before slowly heading over. As I got closer, I was able to see what it truly was; a bright blue chest standing atop a table. Its silver lock was rusted and when I swiped my hand over it, a bit of the red rust coated my fingers.

I pried open the lid, wondering if there was anything useful to help me get out. At first, it wouldn't budge, but then the lid snapped up, flying away from my fingers and hitting the stone table.

I hummed when I saw the contents. A folded piece of paper and the Heart of the Sea. Neither were very valuable to me.

Mumbling under my breath, I shut the lid and was about to turn and walk off when I froze, my mind whirling rapidly.

Dark said he wanted two things from a bunch of chests; a piece of paper and something valuable inside. The Heard of the Sea could be valuable for light underwater, although it wasn't the nicest gift somebody could have.

With a racing heart, I snatched the two items from the blue box and stuffed them into my inventory.

One chest down, more to go.
