The next day, Denji once again found himself on the way to the lake where he and Eri meet each other. Why did he even bother to go back there? He said he was done with her, there wasn't anything attaching him to that girl besides her good looks maybe. But there are other pretty girls in this world too! So why was he here, facing her back again as she sat at the same trunk, absorbed by the icy scenery around her.

"You came."

Eri's monotone voice sounded as she glanced over her shoulder to look at the boy. Just like the day before, she motioned him to sit next to her which he mindlessly followed. Denji expected her to just hand him the video recorder and change into her skates but his assumption was proved wrong when she got another scarf and hat out of her bag.

What he expected even less was that without any hesitation she put the scarf around his neck and the hat over his ears. Her warm hands brushed his cheeks while she made sure that Denji wouldn't be as cold as before anymore which made his face heat up instantly. They never were this close to each other so Denji ended up being stunned even as Eri already retracted her hands, taking the warmth that they brought with them.

"Those are the old ones from my brother, he doesn't need them anymore so you can have them. Maybe now you will finally stop complaining about the cold."

After this special moment, she went back to her usual routine and not soon after Denji was recording her on the ice again. This time, it wasn't as cold as the previous times. Not just because of his new accessories but also because every time he looked at Eri spinning around on the surface of the lake, he thought about how gently she touched him moments before. Now his face got even hotter.

That day really was full of surprises since Eri only stayed on the ice for a very short time too.

"I don't feel like skating today."

Was the last thing Denji recorded her saying before he turned off the camera as she left the ice.

"You have a brother?"

He asked Eri but never received an answer. He knew she heard him - she was sitting right next to him changing her shoes - but since her not answering his questions wasn't something new, he just let it slide. When she was finished and packed everything back in her bag, she stood up and walked away from Denji without saying another word. What did he do wrong now?

"Hey! You forgot your ba-"

Denji bowed down to pick up her bag but as soon as he stood up again something very cold met his cheek.

"I did not, we're still not done for today."

When he looked over to Eri, he found her staring him down, her head slightly tilted to the side and an almost unnoticeable smile on her lips. As Denji was still processing what just happened, she already leaned down to take some more snow and form it into a ball. A moment later the snowball landed in his face and got him out of his trance.

"Has your brain stopped working or did you never had one to begin with?"

She already reached to arm herself with another snowball to throw but this time missed the boy who now understood what was going on. He hid behind one of the trees and got himself some munition too to retaliate for hitting him two times already.

Both exchanged throws for a while, hitting each other a few times as the area around them turned into a small snowy battlefield. Denji was sure that he didn't have so much fun in a very long time and he hoped that Eri was thinking the same too. He was just about to throw another snowball at her since she was standing wide out in the open but quickly realized that she was unarmed and holding both her hands close to her.
