Darius' POV:

"Where is Raine Whispers?" Belos asked, glancing around the table as I swallowed the lump in my throat. I knew Raine was tired with getting Mipha settled in the castle, but to be 20 minutes late to a meeting? That's just concerning.
"I think they're busy with their daughter, Emperor" I tried to reason, hearing him sigh.
"We will proceed, I trust you will catch them up on the event, Darius" I nodded, beginning to listen to Kikimora begin screaching about Coven attendance numbers, and mission outcomes. Basic shit, telling us to do better with the occasional back-handed encouragement from Belos. I can't read this man, something about him isn't right. And this Day of Unity bullshit? I don't buy it, but I can't do anything so why bother making a fuss about it.
An hour later, we were free as I began to head out.

"Darius- Raine has a daughter?" Lilith approached me, looking to me with pleading eyes. She must have figured out it's Eda's. But I can't say that.
"Yes, but it's not Eda's, if that's what you're thinking. There was an incident shortly after they broke up, Raine got drunk, and now there's a kid" I shrugged, reciting the lie that Eda and Raine came up with before Eda gave Mipha to Raine. Lilith's stature fell, disapointment flooding her. She misses her sister, wishing she knew where she was since Eda has gone missing according to a few people. Only a handful of us know where she is.
Eber bounded to me, barking and beginning to head towards the rooms.

"Maybe one day you can meet her, but right now Raine is going through a lot" she nodded, turning on her heels and walking away as I began the treck to Raine's room. Once there, I began knocking on the door.

"Raine, the meeting was an hour ago! Raine!" I called, Eber scratching the door before I gave in, using magic to unlock the door and stepping in. Imediately, I almost tripped over some toys.
I looked around, towel's, food, bottles, and toys were thrown about. The kitchen was a disaster, making me cringe as Eberwolf began picking the toys up, running around to put them in a small box near the couch. 

"Raine?" I called, listening for some form of response, but not gaining one. Eber sniffed the ground, before chittering and pointing to what looked to be Raine's bedroom. Fuck it, I've seen them naked before. Yeah, never let Raine get drunk at a party with Eda. 
I walked in, cringing at the mess. I glanced around before turning the corner, spotting Raine laying in bed with Mipha on their chest. They were snoring, drooling and covered in whatever Mipha had puked up, or just drool.

This is just... this is just sad, man.

"Raine, wake up" I cautiously poked them, not wanting any of the throw up or baby spit on my gloves. A few more pokes and they snorted awake, glancing around before they squinted their eyes at me, not having their glasses on.

"It's me, you missed the meeting so Belos sent me to catch you up" they groaned at my words, rubbing their eyes and running a hand down their face, pulling their eyelids for a split second before reaching to the table for their glasses.
"I hope you know that this is very sad to watch" I handed them the lenses, letting them wake up more before they looked down at the sleeping baby on their chest, patting her back. 

"Fuck, man... she kept me up all night..." they got up, careful to support Mipha's head as they walked out of the room. I went to their closet, seeing no clean clothes other than a really ugly grey t-shirt with the hexide logo on it. I grabbed some jeans for them as well and followed them to the nursery, watching them change her diaper as she woke up, making little noises which each breath she took. It was adorable, honestly, but babies are... gross, to say the least. 

"Good morning, sweetheart-"
"It's 2 in the afternoon" I smirked, seeing them sigh and kiss her head, rubbing her sky blue hair and booping her nose. 
"Watch her, make sure she doesn't fall" they prompted, letting me walk over and place my hand on her chest to keep her in place. She looked around with such wonder in her big eyes, despite not actually being able to see anything. She's only 2 weeks old, after all. Her face twisted to a sour expression, before she let out a heart wrenching cry, wailing as I didn't really know what to do. I was about to ask Raine before we heard the most disgusting noise in the universe, forcing me to gag.

"Welcome to newborns, Darius" They mused, walking back over with a onsie and changing her again. As they did that, Mipha threw up, it seemed to just be milk but this was just proving my point of babies being gross. 
"So, the meeting?" they smiled, kissing her tummy and putting the new onsie on.
"Nothing important, just Kikimora telling us 'do better' for an hour, like usual" I rolled my eyes, following them out to the living room. I glanced around, really hating how filthy this place was. 

"I'm gonna do your laundry, cause this is... I don't even know" I walked away, seeing Raine give me a faint smile as I got to work. Putting all the dirty clothing in the washer and turning it on, before heading to the living room to pick up any towels and blankets. By this point, Eber had picked up all the toys and put them away, and Raine was in their kitchen making a bottle for Mipha. 
"You guys don't have to help, not that I don't appreciate it-"
"Nonesense, we told you we would help when we could. Eda made me swear an everlasting oath" I snickered, remembering how serious Eda was about us helping Raine take care of their baby.
"That the only reason?" They seemed worried, making me let out an annoyed sigh, walking over and motioning for them to give me Mipha and the bottle.
