We'll Meet Again

Chapter 1 - S.R.E (Stunned Recall Efface)

"H-Help..." Where's my group? Did they leave me? "Lilith, honey are you okay?" The small girl I had cradled in my hands looked up with tears streaming down her face.

"Mommy, you're bleeding," Lilith said, I almost forgot I was bitten. I need to find a safe place for Lilith immediately. "Also I never got my present " the small girl cried.

Lilith had turned three today, this wasn't what I wanted for her. Tears began to run down my face as I realized that I failed to keep Lilith safe. I'm bit, everyone's dead, my group left me, and that asshole... How could he leave me like this!?

I sat down against a burnt wall and watched everything else around me burn. I'm too tired to move, even if I did nobody would find us. 

"I..." I looked down at Lilith, her clothes were soaked in blood and mud, "I'm sorry Lilith. This was supposed to be the best birthday you've ever had, yet I failed, and now..." I stopped noticing that I was going to turn with Lilith still here.

I looked around one more time to see if I could find someone or anything. My eyes stopped on a revolver that was in the middle of some burning logs, "L-Lilith, sweetie, can you do mommy a huge favor?" 

I pointed to the revolver, "Can you get that for me, please?" I asked. Lilith looked scared and hesitant at first, but she nodded and got up from my lap. 

When she went to pick up the revolver through the fire I heard a yelp, "LILITH!? Are you okay?" I shouted. There was no response for a few seconds until I saw her appear with the gun in hand.

"Are you okay?" When I asked she didn't answer, but I noticed she was holding her hand tightly. "What happened?" She still didn't answer. All she did was hand me the revolver while she did that though I saw a small burn mark on the back of her hand. "Oh, come here sweetie" She sat in my lap again while I cradled her.

I looked at the revolver that was still in my hand, then flicked it back. One bullet. That was all that was left in it. What am I supposed to do? I can't go anywhere and I'm going to... turn.

One bullet is all I need to stop it, but Lilith I can't leave her. Even if I did those things out there, they'll hear it and come for her.

"HEY!" Suddenly I heard a man shouting in front of me, "WHO ARE YOU!?" He said. 

I didn't know how to respond, Lilith curled closer to me in fear, "L-Leave us alone!" I said weakly. The man began approaching us and from his shadowy figure I could tell he had a weapon in his hand, "Get away!" I shouted, I tried to raise the revolver in my hand, but I was shaking from how tired and scared I was.

The man stopped for a second before throwing his gun to the ground, "You have a kid?" He sounded confused, but he began creeping toward me "I'm not going to hurt you" He said softly.

I dropped the gun, not because I trusted him, I couldn't anymore. Even though my vision was blurry I was able to make out the guy's features. His hair was long, blonde, and put in a bun and his eyes were a dark blue. 

But... what if he can..."Sir please..." I said weakly, I moved Lilith off my lap even though she clung to me, "please...."

"I'm not going to hurt you I promise" the man held out his hand to me, but I couldn't take it.

I took Lilith's hand and pushed her off of me luckily the guy caught her. "Please take her" I muttered, the guy was confused until I raised my arm and lifted my shirt a bit to reveal a huge bite mark on my side. His eyes widened in shock, "Please just keep her safe and... g-get her a present for her birthday..." I begged.

"W-What's going on?" Lilith looked at me with scared eyes.

"Honey, I want you... to go with this man, he's going to get your present and celebrate your birthday" I could hear my heartbeats and it felt like I was going to pass out soon, "Lilith, I want you to be strong for me, please. Don't let anyone push you around and most importantly..." it was getting hard for me to breathe, my throat was dry and I could barely speak. No, I refuse to turn before saying what I have to say. I want Lilith to remember these words. "Take care of the people you love, the people that love you and will always have your back, not the ones who take advantage of that" I finished.
