chapter 10 - shut up and drive
"my engine's ready to explode."
ARYA

"I'm such a fucking idiot," I groan, sinking my face into my hands.
"Well, being in debt with Lee Haechan isn't exactly the move I would have made," she says, and if she wasn't behind the phone screen, I would have leapt over and tried to gauge her eyes out.
"It's not like the plan you gave me was working, I had to act fast," I try to defend myself but even I knew I had gotten myself into an impossible situation. "Ugh, this was such a dumb idea."
"Hey, don't go falling at the first hurdle on me Arya. Look it might not be under the best circumstances, but we got the desired outcome, didn't we?" She tries to reassure me, but owing Lee Haechan the media slayer a favour wasn't precisely the desired outcome.
Still, I shrug trying to see the bright side, "I guess so."
"Good," she beams, "Now show me your options for the race."
I narrow my eyes in confusion, "what options?"
"Outfit options, you can't go in your work clothes, don't be silly!"
"My work clothes are fine, Iseul, it's a race, not a fashion show," I say, turning to face my mirror. I examine myself, she did have a point.
"What happened to those orange shorts I packed for you, or that black dress that makes your legs look longer?" She says, moving closer to the camera on her end.
I pick up the phone with a raised eyebrow, her face displayed across the screen with a knowing smirk. I sigh, heading over to my suitcase and start rooting through it. At the very bottom the tight orange short shorts were placed, hidden.
"Iseul," I groan picking up the clad material. "Where did you even find these?"
"In the hidden depths of your closet, it's not like you gave me much time to update your stale wardrobe."
"My wardrobe isn't stale," I correct and she rolls her eyes. I press the tight shorts against my body and turn to the mirror. "There's no way I'm wearing these."
"Why not? You'll look hot as hell."
"They go up my ass, Iseul, I'm trying not to draw attention to myself whilst I'm going undercover," I say, and I hear her scoff.
"C'mon, Arya, there's no harm in showing off that hot body of yours," I sit down on the bed and hold the phone whilst she speaks. "I know Tae-suk hurt you, but you should put yourself back out there."
