Out of all the Wubboxes, there was one in particular that caught your eye. You had been certain that their mystical life forces were well-guarded and protected in their chest; a glowing orb that drew first-glances to it. Those things sure looked important, so just why would his just be out, unguarded?

Your staring was interrupted by the holder himself, and you winced at the staticky, bellowing voice of the Earth wubbox: "It's rude to stare, Master." You furrowed your brows in response, neatly accompanying your eye roll. Out of every monster, he was sure the most infuriating of them all. Most of the wubboxes were fairly aware of their sheer size and power, but still respected you as you were the one to awaken them. Sure, you did it asking nothing in return but you hadn't expected the careless mannerisms of the one before you.

He peered down at you with an antagonizing gaze, much like usually did. You felt your blood boil and you spat, "Actually, I wasn't staring at anything." And this whole interaction truly made you regret spending your day at Earth Island.

"If you want me ta' explain it, sweetheart, ya can just ask." He said flatly, while a circle of smoke briefly emitted from the tubes on his head. He had even crossed his arms sassily to exemplify his point, each movement harboring a hissing sound accompanying the noise of gears turning.

Begrudgingly, you allowed curiosity to wash over and you caved, "Sure, whatever," you cleared your throat, "I noticed that your...core...thing? Is completely unguarded. I always thought of Wubbox cores as their source of life. Why don't you enclose it like Water?" You paused to think of another example, "Or at least have some coverage like Ice or Plant?"

He stared down at you with a weird expression, one you could only vaguely identify as creepy or perverted. You awkwardly scratched the back of your neck, feeling rather uncomfortable under his gaze.

"Well, ya' not wrong. It's a lot like what ya humans call a 'heart,' if it were to be damaged I'd be in good trouble, but I don't care too much." And with that, he took a large step closer to you, practically so that you were eye-level to the opening of his chest. It was an eerie space, the faint ticking of gears and moving parts, occasional springs whenever he moved, and lastly the cherry on top: the glowing brown orb living inside. It sat loosely in the bottom "jaw" of the contraption, almost urging you to grab it. He noticed your attention, "Go on an' grab it, Sweetheart."

You began to, but quickly retracted your arm at the sudden realization of how sketchy this was. You saw his creepy expression falter for a minute as you asked, "Those, uh, 'jaws,' don't move, right?"

"What?!" He acted offended, "If ya think I'd bite ya, ya'r outta your mind." He gestured with one of his large mechanical arms to try again. Reluctantly, you slowly extended your arm once again, subtly glancing up at his face to see his creepy smile widen. It felt as though time itself had slowed down, and you were grateful that you two were away from the other monsters, as such a sight would prove to be embarrassing. You winced as your hand entered the jaws, looking up at his eyes again, finding approval to finally set a hand on the glowing orb. Finally, with a spark of excitement, your hand dove for the enticing orb, and for a moment you felt around it with your much smaller hand, it's smooth surface and slight warmth feeling rather pleasant. His face contorted into something almost unreadable, and you noted the surplus amount of steam pouring out of his head. He almost seemed pleased— almost to please with the touch. You flinched at the sensation of a liquid dripping onto your arm. d you were grateful that you two were away from the other monsters, as such a sight would prove to be embarrassing. You slowly lifted your head, seeing some sort of liquid simulating drool leaking from his mouth. His eyes were half-lidded, halfway covered by his grey eyelids. Was this pleasurable to him?

Your thoughts skidded to a halt when you heard a cacophony of gears and metal sounds, and your brain kicked into overdrive. Adrenaline shot through you when you snatched your arm away just in time for the metal jaws that served as a mouth to shut forcefully, generating a loud BANG.

You flew backwards instinctively, breathing heavily and looking down at your arm, which had been in danger just a second ago.

"What the hell, Earth!" You demanded between breaths. He seemed completely out of it. He was slouched over, liquid still leaking out of his mouth.

You shuddered, trying to contain your breaths as to hear what his deep staticky voice was saying: "Ha...ya' nearly fell for it. Didja think it'd be that easy?"

You felt a blush creep to your face. Was that experience an intimate one in his nature? You were deeply embarrassed, did he think you were trying to engage that entire time? It couldn't be. But, before your inner banter could come into light, he chuckled one last time before stomping away.

What the hell.
