i've never been fond of sports.
especially football.
however, my brother cameron has played pretty much every single sport to exist since he came out of the womb. football, basketball, baseball, tennis, you name it.
and let's just say, it's paid off. now, in 2022, my brother is a famous footballer. almost everywhere i go, i'll hear some obnoxious person shout:
"hey, is that Cameron Amery's sister?"
and let's just say, it gets pretty aggravating.

even though i practically never go to my brothers games, we've always been close.
but this time it would be "different." the 2022 world cup is starting, and my brother is playing for the Portugal team. my parents have been bugging me non-stop, attempting to persuade me to come watch the world cup— since, of course, cameron is playing.
"Kiara, this is the last time i'm asking you. we're leaving for the world cup next week. are you sure you don't want to come," my mom said in a pleading tone.
i sighed and pursed my lips, wondering if maybe i should go. "mom," i said softly, "do you really think i should go?"
her eyes lit up at the fact that i was even considering her request. "yes, kiara! i promise you'll have fun," she said, "give it a chance."
she glared at me with some sort of hope in her eyes, waiting for my final answer.
"alright," i spoke, "i'll go."
"good choice kiara. you wont regret it." she winked at me and a half-hearted smile appeared on her face as she left the kitchen.

the time has come; my family and I are leaving to go to Qatar. the world cup officially starts on November 21, but we're arriving in Qatar on November 1st. my family and i decided that we would get there early, so we would not only be able to watch the world cup— but we would get to watch cameron's practices as well.
